There is actually easy street parking in front of the building. El Borrego is a favorite of the locals in Kokomo. The tables and chairs are carved colorful tropical scenes. The dining room is not fancy, but functional. A generous portion of complementary chips and a fresh salsa come out quickly. Our server was friendly and attentive. They serve traditional Mexican favorites and I was in the mood for a couple tacos. You can buy a platter of 20 mixed tacos for $69 or order them individually. I selected the soft shell Tacos Supreme, one chicken and one shrimp. The tacos were very good with lots of cheese, meats and lettuce. I also picked up some tortillas in their grocery store. Checkout was smoother than I expected, and the mix of regular lanes and self-checkout helped keep things moving. Staff wasn't always easy to find, but I eventually got the help I needed.
