Well that's been a clear "maybe". Hier stimmt vor allem eins und zwar die Location und die hat's wirklich in sich. Ein schöner alter Hof, umgebaut zur Brauerei mit großem Biergarten in dem im Sommer mit Sicherheit die Hölle losbricht. Im Innenraum ein schöne Brauerei-Anlage und eine nette Einrichtung aus Holz. Bei meinem Besuch war der Biergarten ziemlich leer, nur 3 - 4 Tische belegt, der Kellner brachte mir direkt die Karte und da ich Durst hatte hab ich mir gleich ein Bier bestellt. 5 Minuten später kam er mein Essen aufnehmen und glaubt es oder nicht aber nach 15 min kam das Essen aber mein Bier war immer noch nicht da. Sowas darf in einer Brauereigaststätte einfach nicht passieren auch wenn Du eindeutig zu wenig Kellner hast. Das Bier war okay, das Schnitzel auch, aber kein wirkliches Highlight. Ich würde max. wegen des Ambientes wiederkommen alles andere hat mich jetzt nicht vom Hocker gehauen. A large modern brew-pub on the southern edge of Bad Homburg, adjacent to a riding stables and farm owned by the pub. The name reflects the staging a major air show featuring early airships in the early 1900s, and there's a memorial to the event by the entrance. The building itself is something of a shed from the outside, and is not going to win any architectural prizes. Similarly, although the main room is light and airy, with brewing kettles forming a feature in the centre, it's not terribly atmospheric. But at least it isn't trying to be something it isn't - it's a new brew-pub, and it's honest about it. In that, it rather reminded me of brew-pubs I've visited in the USA. The pub generates its own power using rapeseed oil grown on the farm, as well as providing its own barley for the brewing process. The site also provides brewery tours and seminars for those keen to learn more about beer. As you'd expect, the main attraction is the beer itself: draught beers include: Kronenhof hell (pale) and dunkel (dark), together with seasonal brews. On our visit, this was the interesting Quattro-Bier, made from 4 different grains. The beers are a more expensive than regular brews elsewhere, but then you're paying for a craft product: the Quattro beer was EUR3.60 for a 0.5l measure, and Dunkel EUR3.40. The pub has an extensive food menu, and it was very busy on the lunchtime that we visited. Food includes regional specialities such as cherry goulash and dishes served with a 'green sauce' of five different green herbs, as well as the more familiar German pork and sausage choices, and a good vegetarian selection. A full lunch for three of us, including five beers and a tip, came to a reasonable EUR45. Service was helpful, friendly and very efficient, despite them being busy. After a long walk up the half mile drive on a damp, cold and rainy January night (yes...we walked from our local Bod Homburg office when our taxi stood us up!), our group of five Americans and one Scot enjoyed a wonderfully authentic German dinner at the Brauhaus. The warmth of this popular place hits you immediately as you walk through the door as our friendly server brought our 20 ounce glass mugs of the local Das Kronenburg bier...and clean brew it was as Faith W, the only female among our group, upgraded from the starter 8 oz. mug to the full 20 ounce boat. We started with some delicious homemade German sausage links and sauerkraut at our server's suggestion before ordering a half dozen plates of two different varieties of their pork Schnitzels and fries around the horn. A bit dismayed at first that their schnitzels were not offered with the more traditional veal, we all quickly all warmed up to the delicious golden brown pork variety. We finished the meal with one order of their rich apple strudel complete with a scoop of ice cream, a dab of whipped cream and some delicious sauce (six spoons please). A brew-pub and restaurant located just off the southern ring road of Bad Homburg (v.d.H), which is also convenient as a stop if driving in the Frankfurt area and you don't want to dive into the big city for a meal (in which context it's near Bad Homburger Kreuz (A5/A661)). The food and beer have always been good, and the service excellent - with the nice touch for somewhere outside a major tourist destination of menus in English. read more

Great Brauhaus to accommodate a large group. They had a separate room with four to five tables each easily seating about 16. Started with the house salad. Very good dark greens with cucumber, shaved carrots, tomatoes, slaw and string beans. Tasted very fresh with a light dressing. For the entree I had the Speisenauswahl mit Parmesan, Rucola und original Büffelmozzarel. Translation: thin pizza-like crust with parmesan and mozzarella topped with arugula leaves. If not in the mood for a heavy meat dish, this is a good pick. Stuck with the hefeweizen (wheat bier) ...great choice for a warm summer day! read more
