Dr. Kruger is very knowledgeable in his field. I was suffering terrible plantar fasciitis pain and he gave me a steroid shot and inserts and I was pain free for quite a few years. He is matter of fact and to the point which I like. Doctors should be able to be honest with you, some don't give you all the information and pussy foot around. I highly recommend Dr. Kruger. I had extreme pain in my foot, with no real reason for it. This intrigued the doc, and he took a good deal of time with me to figure out what would take the pain away. Because it was just a shot, he said I could come in any time after a couple months, even without an appointment, and he'd take care of me. Fortunately, the pain went away on its own after about 8 months. He is right down to business.....and that's what I want in a doctor. I highly recommend Dr. Kruger. read more

I saw Dr. Kruger twice recently and had a great experience. Dr. Kruger was professional and attentive. I had to have an injection in my foot and was dreading it because friends had gone to other doctors and said it was a horrible experience. Over & Above! Hubby had appt to check out diabetic feet; liked Dr. Kruger just fine... Until - a month later, hubby stubbed his toe; and needed an amputation -- Dr. Kruger proved himself an EXCELLENT doctor. He's caring (for his patient and a somewhat "overly involved" spouse). He's patient when explaining what he's doing and what all is involved. Hubby ended up hospitalized with unrelated health issues; Dr. Kruger was in "our corner" and involved with his patient's care. DO NOT GO TO HIM! He is the absolute worst Dr I have ever seen. Took my 6 year old at the time, starting picking at his toe, with any anesthetics tell me he can do it without. I told him no, immediately my son was crying In pain. He told my son to stop crying it doesn't hurt that bad, and if he does not let him remove the nail that I will have to take him to children's Hospital and it would cost thousands of dollars. Wow, I read the reviews. These patients definitely can not be real patients of Dr. Kruger. He has the best bedside manner of any Podiatrist I have met. He is gentle in his treatments. I love the informative conversation as he tells you exactly what he is doing and why he is doing it. He treats me for a venus ulcer on the inner side of my foot. Removing the excess and dead skin would be painful were it not for the use of liquid lidocane. I would definitely recommend him to my friends and family read more

I took my moderatley autistic adult son to see Dr Frederick Kruger 530 E Herndon Ave #104, Fresno, CA 93720 (559) 447-9040. I wanted to try and get him some orthotic shoes or inserts because he has flat feet. He came in after the medical assistant and asked me just what I was trying to accomplish by bringing him there. I told him after he walks a lot he limps like he's in pain. I wanted to get orthotic shoes or inserts for him. He said how do you know that he's in pain. (My son's reciprocal language is minimal.) He told me I see that you're just trying to do the right thing, but to just let him (my son) live his life. This jerk had me in tears. Why in the world did you become a physician? It certainly wasn't to help people, so it must have been to collect a paycheck. I DO NOT recommend this podiatrist. I wouldn't even take my dogs to see him. read more

Dr. Kruger is great. His demeanor is calm, positive, attentive, flexible, and personal. His staff is also friendly and professional. My wait time in both the waiting room and the exam room was very short. I was treated for plantar fasciitis. I was in severe pain. His recommended treatment was a cortisone shot in the affected foot. He did warn me the injection would be painful and he was right! But within a couple days I was completely pain free and remain so. read more

Horrible experience! DO NOT GO TO THIS DR.!!! My child passed out in his office and he provided horrible bedside manner and care. I took my sweet 13 year old son in for an ingrown toenail. The Dr. immediately launched into flirting inappropriately with me and asked what my husband did for work before he really even assessed my child. Just very unprofessional from the start. He determined that my son would benefit best from having a minor procedure to stop the ingrown nail from returning and I decided I could tolerate his arrogance just to get this done. My son immediately was uncomfortable with the sight of the needle and instead of kind compassion and reassurance he berated and belittled my child. Within the first few pokes my child was shaking and upset and really trying to tolerate the pain, especially after being told he'd charge my insurance no matter if he completed the procedure or not. I asked if I could hold my sons hand and he told me to sit down, that I was not going to do that. My child then passed out in the chair and stopped breathing. The Dr. yelled at me when I tried to go to him and proceeded to revive him with ammonia salts. It took at least a minute to bring him back. IT WAS TERRIFYING! My son was crying uncontrollably and begged for me to get him out of there. The Dr. just stood there impatiently and asked if we were going to do this or not. EVEN after he had just fainted!! I asked for a minute and tried to calm my son down. He never returned in the 5 minutes I was calming him and we decided to leave and just walked out. The Dr made no attempt to apologize or speak to us in any way even though we walked right by his office where he was seated. He just kept his back to us. I will be reporting this experience and his unprofessional behavior anywhere and everywhere and encourage you to not see this man. He CLEARLY needs to retire. read more

I took my wife to Dr Kruger today for what appeared to be an infection in her toenail bed. He proceeded to cut into the toenail and kept cutting...without offering a shot to numb the pain. He cut to the nail bed, then ripped the rest out. When asked why he didn't offer to numb the toe before cutting, he responded by saying, I didn't expect that much puss! He said you are going to hate me today, but tomorrow you will feel much better. True, but there was no need to go down the "hate me today" path. Not a good experience at all! read more

Friendly staff and glad we didn't have to wait two months for an appointment like with many specialists. I have a preteen high functioning autistic son (anxious) who needed care. I like that Dr. Kruger was straight to the point and focused on involving my son in his care. He's not going to sweet talk anyone but that's exactly what my son needed. I just had to sit back and let Doctor do all the talking and explaining...he handled my son very well. We were able to take care of the procedure same day in the office. read more

Ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch... So bad!!! I just had an ingrown toenail treated, and it was so painful!! He numbed the toe, but there was an area that was still sensitive, which I didn't know until he started cutting into it. I told him that it was painful, and he proceeded to ask me to "describe the pain." Apparently, I didn't describe it to his satisfaction, so he insisted that I wasn't really in pain at all, that it was only in my head. The guy is a total quack. I wish I had read the other reviews before I went to see him. He is no good, at all! And if you think about it, you probably just shouldn't receive treatment from someone who shares a name with a horror villain. read more

Kruger comes in and asks what I'm there for instead of examining my feet, which is why I told them I was there. He clipped my toenails and did an ugly job of it, by the way. Here's the worst part: The skin underneath each of my big toenails is arched, I asked him not to cut that skin and he continued to do so anyway. I said, "There are nerve-endings in that so don't cut it". Kruger continued to clip at the skin despite my protests and warnings that it hurt, commented "Yes, it's live tissue," then tried to do the same thing on the other foot. Kruger then said, "I want you to get healthier". I said "What do you mean?" and he responds, "You wouldn't be diabetic if you lost weight. Your feet are fine. But I want you to lose weight". What the f*** does me losing weight have to do with my feet, which are, according to "the doctor", fine. You are not my primary care physician, you are a foot doctor. There's no reason why he should've been making irrelevant remarks about my weight when, according to him, my feet are fine. The staff is lackluster. The waiting room is so small, they have instructions asking patients not to come more than ten minutes before their appointment time. They're playing Christian radio in the waiting room. The assistant who saw me before the Kruger didn't seem to be processing things very well when she asked me questions, looking confused with every answer. Fatphobia and my left toe still hurts where he tried to clip off skin. I just called and asked how to file a complaint against Kruger's office and the receptionist who answered has no idea. I am a registered nurse at CRMC. Of recent I have been diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis. This is very painful to the feet and calves and weight bearing is nearly impossible; I limp everywhere and I want to cry. I was recently seen by Dr Kruger. My first visit he gave me a cortisone injection. I screamed and cried after the injection not knowing how painful it would be. My pain went away for only 2 days. But when the pain came back, I made another appointment. This time, I would NOT get injections but would request other non-pharmacological interventions. I spent around $900.00 on foot care, shoes, inserts, adday roller, night boots and more. This gave me 9 great days of being nearly pain free! I walked the dog, played with my kids, began to exercise and functioned at a high level at work. Then the pain came back. I again went to see FREDDY KRUGER!!! This time I needed the injections. My pain was worse than ever before and I felt even if I only got 2 days of relief it would be worth it. I was however terrified to get the injection due to the pain that was felt, and that made me anxious. When I called the office I explained my position and that I would like for the doctor to give me 1 Atavan pill to take prior to my visit or a topical cream to numb my foot and reduce the pain of insertion from the 4 inch needle. The doctor denied my request to assist me in this fear and anxiety. Due to needing relief, I still go to the office and feel completely nervous. I tell the lady Rachel (clerk) about my feelings and ask her to help hold my legs for the doctor so that I don't knee jerk and injure him or me. She says yes. I then wait 15 long minutes. As Dr Kruger enters the room without Rachel, he can sense my anxiousness written all over my face. He looks coldly at me and says, "you look tense?" I say, " I am trying to be calm but I am nervous about the injection, it's gonna hurt. I asked Rachel to assist in helping me be still for you." Krugger says, "You don't need her, you're gonna be fine, just sit still. It will hurt for just a second and then be over." Me, "I know but that doesn't help with how I feel, can she please come in and help me?" Krugger, "No! This is not a prison, we are not forcing you to get the injections. If you would lose some weight that would help a lot (as he stares at my stomach)." I thought to myself, How does my weight have anything to do with my anxiety? The anxiety that you dismissed by not prescribing me appropriate medications? Instead of telling him my thoughts I politely say, "I am working on that, but right now I need help with the pain in my feet, I have to work to support my boys I am a single mom." Krugger, "Listen, I don't know what all you got going on in your life that is so bad to make you like this, but this is not a prison and I don't need this today!" I was beside myself at his response and demeanor. A doctor's office is supposed to be a safe place to come and seek treatment, support and a safe place to be myself freely with "my doctor" whom at this time was incredibly rude and heartless. My pain in my feet is so bad that I feel giving birth was easier. This doctor, that is supposed to be: empathetic, sympathetic, and a therapeutic communicator is bashing my faith in medicine and ripping down all safety nets that should be in place when you visit a doctor. Next, he throws down the syringe on the table and says, "I am not seeing you! Go some where else, I don't need this today!" I did not know what to do. I sat there for a few minutes in the chair with my feet exposed, trying to process what had just happened. Dr Kruger begins typing at the computer. He then turns around to me and says, "You're still here? Why? Leave." Me, "Wow, can I get my co-pay back?" Kruger, "No, You took up my time, didn't you?!" I was baffled, pissed off and still in excruciating pain. Never ever in my history as a patient, person, or nurse have I ever witnessed a doctor treating anyone like this!!!! He should be ashamed of himself. I would advise anyone to choose someone else who still has a heart for medicine and people, even his wife. I came to him seeking support, kindness, compassion and help. Instead he belittled me and was cruel. read more
