They seemed confused at to what there identity is. The are a NBC affiliate that is owed by scripps news. They show both national news programming. Most of the local news has scrips news throughout the day. Not very much sports at any level. read more

BUYER BEWARE OF HALF OFF DINING....I purchased a certificate through through KSBY for "Half Off Dining" at a restaurant that is now closed. The certificates DO NOT EXPIRE but when I called to get a credit I was told that it had been too long since I purchased the certificate and I should have used the certificate "within a reasonable amount of time".... They would offer no credit. I did not ask for a refund - only a credit. Poor customer service. read more

I just have to come forward and tell this story, My friends child was missing and we reached out to KSBY and spoke to Kathrene, she never said for sure they would not put it on the news but they never did. I suspect ,do to the fact that the 15 year old had run away. However she was still gone for a week and KCOY had it on the news several times. I do not understand and will no longer be in support of KSBY . from KSBY Kathrene called me to explain why they had not aired the story, saying the Arroyo grande police had not responded and therefore with out confirmation from them they could not air it. read more

As longtime residents and avid viewers of local news, we have watched KSBY News devolve into a middle-school level of production delivered by their (unintentionally) comical anchors. We never thought we would yearn for the Ken-doll -esque, over-coiffed Tony Cippola...but where did they find this new guy? I don't even KNOW this guy's name, that's how much of an impact he's made on ME! SO, let's just call him "new guy". ;) New Guy and the rehashed version of Jeanette Trompeter deliver the news with a demeaning simplicity that comes off as plastic and an insult to anyone with more than a high school education. And then there's the weather-clown. He comes off like an unemployed actor waiting tables in Hollywood....where every weathercast is his next audition for Pee Wee's Playhouse on Broadway. Since we've become loyal KCOY News viewers, we only scroll by KSBY when we're looking for a laugh... UNLESS it's the weekend...and we happen upon Danielle Learner...who is clearly the best feature of this carny sideshow. She is the only reason we rated ONE star... read more

I enjoy the camaraderie between the on-air talent, and especially enjoy the charm and professionalism of the 'newest hire' Jeanette Trompeter, an anchor. We all benefit when the station remembers to cover the local-interest news, not rehashing national news from the network feed (the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars). These guys are terrible, they stumble all over themselves. The news they report is available the prior day in the newspaper. It annoys me when the can't even finish the story before a commercial comes on. If you want to get caught up on local history these are the the guys to listen to otherwise, use the internet. Wow. Such a stinker of a news show. The anchors are ok and seem to cope with the general lack of production quality and poor choices in coverage. Sports stinks. Don't expect coverage of anything that matters. No professional coverage unless it's playoffs. Expect to be completely in the dark when it comes to sports coverage that matters. Weather is usually off by 10 degrees. Constant misses routinely through the tri-counties area. If you want better "local" coverage, tune into KEYT (ABC) you will get a better quality of news. read more

Bought a half off dining certificate form KSBY. Went to use it and the restaurant had closed their doors. I then tried to get a refund from KSBY and was told to bad no refund. This is not a reputable company and I hope others don't get taken advantage of by this unscrupulous company. read more

Can't compare KSBY to big time news stations. Production is like high school but you should expect that from a small town news station. We watch just to hear Fabiola Rameriz say her name! read more

I wish I could give them 5 stars I really do. But you know this dispute between KSBY and DIRECTV if too much, and it is both their faults. Each has their own spiel on it. Both saying basically the same thing and placing blame on the other. Either way it comes down to blackmailing the viewing public. And it is wrong ! So hopefully they will come to a resolution soon rather than later, and hopefully KSBY will not use so many interns. The Interns can't speak clearly and are a mess on air. Ive been a long time viewer of KSBY in the mornings...with the exception of the occassionally incorrect weather, its always been pretty good. But as of late ive noticed tinges of the on air hosts and even whoever writes the stories on the webpage personal Political views. Sadly it leans towards the left...but even if it went towards the right side of the spectrum, id still have to say keep youre Political views to yourself and just give an unbiased version of the news stories. read more

I know one viewer less does not matter, BUT.....20+ year viewer, no more. Dave Ally is no more an anchor than I am...he stutters and stammers, you want to help him along. He did well announcing sports, send him back. Megan, another new face and amateur, has a lot to learn without me watching and waiting for her to "mature". Your new format is wayyyyyyy too busy. Cassandra has been put in the "back seat", why? As far as I am concerned Tony Cippola who didn't last long and Patty Piburn are the only REAL professional anchors you've had in a long time.
