Here's my take on it: When I used to be a reporter, it was serious dedication to turning out the very best you could for your "audience." (I was in broadcast journalism.) It just comes across to me that the reporters for this news outlet don't have the really serious commitment to turn out the highest quality work/stories that they could. My opinion. Today for the 7th day in a row my paper is totally drenched. My sprinkler gets it totally wet. For 15 years we have subscribed to the paper. I called and talked to a young man who told me they have no record of me at this address, someone else lives here and they had their paper canceled a year ago!?? Hmmm! I ordered the Santa Maria Times September 5th 2017 and when no paper came, I called the 14th and they said they would deliver the next day. Nothing for 5 days. Called the 19th. Nothing, called the 23rd and got more assurance. Nothing. The 27th I emailed circulation manager Guillemo Tamayo. No response. Called today and she said account cancelled and refund coming. This paper office has the worst customer service. When calling in, expect a 12-15 minute hold. When asking for a vacation hold, there is none on- line, or if there is an on-line portal, can't find it. When a new carrier comes on-board, we typically miss several days of papers and we pick up papers wet on our wet lawn. Management just makes excuses. To bad there is not an alternative option.
