Just spent a weekend with three buddies playing a ton of golf at Moses Pointe. The golf course was…read morein great shape, the greens were smooth and fast, and the pace of play was great for a Friday and Saturday. We seemed to see the cart girl every couple of holes, which was awesome. She was nice, made great cocktails, and was quick. The food in the restaurant was very good as well. Between us, we had the French Dip, two of the different burgers, the BLT, the Club, and a few other things. All of it was great food. The customer service from the Pro Shop, to the bartender, to the cart guys was great. The carts were clean and well-stocked. We really enjoyed our time and will definitely be back. It was difficult to settle on the final star rating, but since my expectations were in check going…read morein to the type of motel this is, I'd say the experience was mostly positive (so, 4 stars vs. 3). This is an older motel (2 floors; all room doors face the parking lot) with a mix of things that work and things that don't. The beds and general state of the room was very clean upon arrival. A heater in the bathroom kept that area toasty warm. There was a modern HDTV with cable. Plenty of washcloths, towels and a hair dryer were present in the bathroom. Both beds were decent in terms of comfort but they were more like full-sized than queen-sized. Despite being located just off the freeway, the ambient freeway noises were barely perceptible. Soap, shampoo, and conditioner were offered in tiny, sample-size packets which were tough to open. The mini fridge had a distractingly loud operating hum to it. Some of the decor (I.e., paint on the wall) was DIY to a distracting level. The bed frame platforms were made of metal and made 'clang' sounds when you walked around the bed and your feet got too close and happened to kick them. We checked out early in the morning at the front desk, which is also where they offer coffee and some mini-treats like packaged Hostess Donuts and pastries. The staff were very friendly and helpful during our interactions. For a nightly rate around $90 (about what we paid), it was better than expected for a budget overnight stay.

I've stayed here before more than once and I seemed to get a pretty nice room on the second floor…read morebut this time I'm on the first floor in a room that's obviously been used by pet owners because there are stains and cigarette burns in the carpet and both arms of the sofa appear to have been used as scratching posts by cats.. I'll probably never stay here again. This room seems like one of the rooms that you avoid filling until you're almost full and not one you place one of your first guests into (when there's hardly anybody else here). My replacement room was a little better, but it sort of smelled like cigarette smoke. I believe this place is under new management, and in their defense, they do seem to be renovating the upstairs rooms. I may give them another chance after I think they're finished.

We purchased a used 2018 EZGO TXT golf cart with Elite Lithium battery. While I am no expert or…read moresavvy purchaser in golf carts I think overall we got a good value. I focused more on aesthetic vs. the mechanics of the cart, but both expectations were met! When Kelly drove up with the beautiful lemon yellow customized cart I was immediately obsessed. Not only did it meet the aesthetic criteria, it met the "drivability" hope. It was a smooth, powerful (we had 4 people in the cart and went up a big hill with ease), and great steering. We haven't put it to the true golf course test, but I will provide a follow up update after a few months of ownership. Along with being a knowledgeable mechanic, Kelly provided top notch customer service. He was particularly accommodating had some great ideas to customize it, threw in some upgrades and made it a very easy process. It was good to have documentation of what we discussed and agreed upon so each of our expectations were met.

As we approach warm weather, I just wanted to give a shout out to Kel-Carts in nearby Quincy. I…read morerecently bought a used Cart from Kelly and was very impressed how he had upgraded the cart with several nice features without blowing the cost of the cart out of the water! It was very reasonably priced and he delivered it too! His upgrades included, beautiful reupholstering, upgraded wheels and tires, LED lighting front and rear,buffed out gleaming paint, build in speakers and a new windshield. In addition, he provided me with two chargers, one for my garage and one for just outside my unit. Finally when I asked him to work up a price to install a new digital battery gauge, he notice one of my wheel hubs and spindles seems loose and without even being asked, changed them out for new at NO cost! THAT is service and respect for the buyers who buy his carts. It's rare to see such dedication and follow up for what you sell by such a young person. She said that they are now charging $20 a vehicle to visit a resident and asked if I was ok with that and I said no I'll pass and she instantly started barking at me. I left the office and as we were leaving the resort she stood out on the deck barking insults at us
