When we went I think there was a funeral that just finished up so we didn't go down to the cemetery side, we just took pictures of the outside of the church, went inside & took some pictures. There's a replica of the Queen Isabella's crown in glass, you can turn the switch on to see it with lights on it. D. said the Gift Shop was closed so we didn't get to check it out. I used to love going to this church. The music and band is great…read more Over the years i started noticing the patterns that just don't feel right. They ask for money 3 times at every service. Seeds, tithes and another at the end for some random thing weather it be a visitor or other reason. Pastor Morocco's daughter the lead singer, admitted that pastor requests they play a fast paced song during the time we "plant a seed" which goes directly into building plans for the cathedral. (Propaganda much?!) He also motivates people to donate by clapping his hands fiercely and saying right now! Believe for a miracle! Plant a tithe! There is a FEE associated to become a member of the church They host a yearly prophetic conference that is somewhere between 60-120$ where you PAY to have a "word from God" spoken to you. You PAY! During Christmas and New Years they sell Christmas trees and fire works, the Halloween light show for the children costs money as well as many other services they request money in exchange for attendance. Do they not remember Jesus turning over the tables because they had made his house a market place?! Recently I noticed new shiny flag poles on the outside of the church, displaying the flag of every country "he" (pastor Morocco) has a church in. Each one of those flag poles costs at least $2k. Not to mention the arrogance the church has for thinking they have accomplished so much. The church is the body of Christ, not the building.

I attend when I can and when I can't I wish I could. I'm not a "churchy" person but I do put all of my faith in God, and am saved through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. At Waipuna Chapel I am surrounded with brothers and sisters in Christ in a real sense. It is my home church.

Really well organized though. Everything is so cheap, I'm talking $.50, $1, $3. Books, Kids toys and clothes, Kitchen things lots of it, Electronic things, Clothes, Hawaiiana decor, Plants (this was my fav, such a nice selection of nice plants) Tips: - Bring a wagon or bags (they have some boxes and bags in case you dont have your own) - Bring cash, smaller bills - Dont come with a plan just look around and shop til you drop (i had a bag full and atill only spent $5 total) - Leave kids and dogs at home. I've been to several dances on…read moreOahu, and my friends and I drove over to makawao thinking it couldn't possibly be as good or better than the Oahu Bon dances. Boy were we wrong. When we arrived, it was raining, but he dutiful parking attendants directed us to a parking spot and we walked the short distance to the temple. I appreciated the fact that the songs were announced and that so many people dressed up!! Because it was raining, they had moved the since indoors, which I thought was very accommodating. I've had to dance in the rain before and it was not fun. I was also impressed with the dancing! Everyone seemed to know all the dances, it was intimidating, but very useful. There was also a huge variety of food options, which we were not expecting at all. My friend's mom had said that chow fun is a thing at Maui Bon dances, so we were looking forward to that, but there were also hot dogs, curry, musubi, shave ice and pickled vegetables and fruit. The chow fun was really good. Salty, but good!!
