It's a beautiful sunny day in the mid 70s, smack dab in the middle of Missouri, and we made a stop…read moreat Buc-ee's off I-44 between Rolla and Springfield. Fuel was $3.11 per gallon here, and just four miles down the road it jumps to $3.49 per gallon. That alone makes this place worth pulling into. At this interchange, Buc-ee's paid for roundabouts on both sides, which is highly efficient. It's a brilliant idea and enables smooth traffic flow everywhere. This Buc-ee's has been here for about three years according to Brisket Bill, and it already feels like a staple stop. I stood there watching them chop fresh brisket and almost went with the Big Buckin' Brisket Sandwich XXL... but it was just two buckin' much for me. This is a nine dollar sandwich and worth every penny! It is outstanding! I did hear employees mumbling something about brisket on something. Maybe they were just bored and wanted to chop brisket. Maybe that's what they were saying. Since they already have a brisket Bill here in Springfield, Missouri, maybe I can be Brisket Bill in Huber Heights, Ohio! what's a 90 minute commute anyways? I think it has a great location, convenient for food, snacks and even household goods. However, I say if you get anxious in crowded and congested places like myself, just avoid it or have someone go in and shop for you. This is my second time there at this location and I felt very overwhelmed by the crowd both times. Every turn I made I was running into another shopper. Also their Triple Mix popcorn was way sugary and had more caramel popcorn than cheddar and butter popcorn.

I think this location was accidentally marked as closed and its reviews reset. It was not closed,…read moreit was offline for about a month while it converted from a regular Kum & Go to a Market version. I had just been down the street a couple of miles were a newish Kum & Go market really let us down, for a second time. As we enter we wonder fi these are franchises and owned by the same people. The last one had rude and unresponsive staff, broken soda machines, slushy machines that were empty and drink lines that needed to be changed and the staff really didn't care. I've giving this location 5 stars because it was the opposite of its sister location just a couple of miles down the road. Right off the staff greets us even though we enter from the side door which is harder for them to see. We note that everything is as it should be, clean, bright, organized, etc. All the things we have come to expect from a Kum & Go Market location. I go to the very large soda fountain, again to get my drink that was out at the other location and they have it, perfectly dialled in with just the right amount of flavor (some places have it watered down). My wife gets her Dr Pepper slushy with a shot of Cherry slushie in it. We are both happy. They ask if we are loyalty members and have our card, we are, we do. They offer minor small talk while we wait for our card to process in a friendly and professional way. Minutes later we are back on the road, happily sipping our drinks. This is exactly what most Kum & Go Markets are supposed to be. Clean, friendly stocked, ready to serve.

Waiting second in the cash line to check out I set several things on the counter before I dropped them on the floor. The fat blondish spiky haired poor excuse for a man behind the counter snottily pointed out I was in front of the self checkout. I pointed out I was paying cash. He snottily pointed out he didn't want me blocking that area even though there was nobody behind me or coming to that area and there was no place else to set my items before I dropped them. I said "maybe I shouldn't come back here at all then in the future". He replied he thought that sounded like a good idea to him. I was in that spot for less than 30 seconds then paid cash and had to ask for a bag for all my things since he sure wasn't going to offer. Having owned a popular retail business just down the street on Battlefield for the last 26 years I realize it's tough to find good employees but this smarmy imbecile needs to be fired. Lots of ways to speak to a customer in this situation without being rude. And no I won't be going back to this or any other of their locations. lots of other options in the same area. I suggest nobody else put up with this kind of lousy service either.
