I really, really liked Bo Lang's food. At first, I was worried about its pretentious atmosphere;…read moretheir decor is a little overly stylized chic and they had incense - who does that in a restaurant? - but their food certainly made up for any doubts I had. Prices are definitely a bit high for the portions. However, the food was really delicious, and it's hard to pick just one or two dishes that were the best. The pumpkin and mouli dumpling is unique and scrumptious for being a gourd. We also really liked the chicken and black truffle shui mai as well as sichuan style dumplings. For hot dishes, get the duck spring roll, black sesame prawn toast, and Singapore vermicelli with prawn and egg. (The people in the kitchen were speaking Chinese, so that's definitely a good sign, in my opinion!) Unfortunately, most of the dishes come with just three portions, so it's tough to share with 4 people, especially when all the dishes are so good. Oh, and how can I forget my Monkey Jump Over the Moon cocktail. It was definitely tropical and the largest volume - biggest bang for your buck when you're spending money on dim sum!

We also noticed that most of the guests that are eating here are very well dressed so, I must say that this place is considered somewhat, "high-end" or trendy. The food is also amazing and the price is reasonable enough.

Given that I am prone to strange cravings brought upon mostly by nostalgia, I didn't think twice…read morewhen my friend visited from Japan wanting "Panda Express" Chinese. Thinking to myself, "How hard could it be to find mall-quality faux Chinese food?" I steered us to Kam Fung. She could get her kung pao chicken and I figured I'd find something. Hainanese chicken rice seemed like a good choice so I went with that. What arrived at our table made Panda Express look like a darn delicacy! I'd take fried fluorescent orange poultry over this any day of the week. My Hainanese chicken rice was goopy and unappetising and tasted worse than it looked. My friend fared slightly better with her order but not by much. I felt majorly ripped off paying the bill and still had hunger pangs as we left. To Kam Fung, I would not return.

God, I love Kam Fung. I used to live just behind it more or less, so this would be our regular spot…read morefor take-aways. It is unarguably the best Chinese take-away I've tried in London, though it loses out by a hair to some other places in the dine-in stakes. Their portions are HUGE which is reflected in slightly higher prices than a bog-standard Chinese, but you very much get what you pay for. Their duck is great, thai roast pork is amazing with a beautiful vinaigrette swimming with garlic and chilli. Crispy beef are incredibly moreish and the best I've ever had. Of all the years of having food at Kam Fung I didn't once have a duff dish, though as Joanne's friend (see review below) advised, that may be because I dodged the clichéd dishes. Stick with something other than the faux-Chinese BS that pervades every menu in this country and you'll do fine! Service is friendly, prices are very reasonable, food is excellent. Fully deserving of 5 stars as it does what it sets out to do excellently. It may not be the most refined restaurant, but within its field it is unquestionably the best.

Jimmy Spice's, the multi-cultural buffet restaurant chain which started in the Midlands, continues…read moreits spread into the southeast by opening its latest restaurant in Wimbledon last week. It follows the pattern of their other restaurants, serving up Indian, oriental and Italian food, mainly buffet style but supplemented by a few live cooking stations such as the noodle stir fry, where the chefs will fry your chosen combination of meat, veg and noodles with a sauce of your choice. The restaurant itself is very bright and airy with high ceilings and big windows. It does tick many boxes but I would still only recommend it for big parties - the buffet makes sure everyone is well-fed, the split of the bill is easy to calculate at the end of the evening and there will be no fighting over what style of food to go for. However, for me, the food is average and I can only give it 3 stars

Curry, Pizza, Salad…read more.... ...Marshmallos, lasagne, ice cream, noodles. A huge restaurant opposite Wimbledon Theatre priding itself on the exploration of around the world cuisine. It's a sure bet for large groups with bits and bobs to please everyone and a good selection for vegetarians. The set up is quite impressive, large hot plates, desert bar and chefs in white hats wandering around asking if you need any advice about what to try. Now, I can imagine what it's like when the restaurant is full on a weekend, and I can see why the place gets a bad rep here. But, I went of a Tuesday with a friend for a nice catch up meal. We were starving and needed a hole filling... and boy did Jimmy's do that. Cheesy Music, lots of families... but if you know what you're going in to... good clean fun all around. Top tip: Tip you waiter... they deserve a pay rise for the uniforms they have to wear.
