First of all, not sure why this is listed as A.V.A. with the "periods" in it since the shop just…read morehas AVA over the front door. I actually thought that when I tried to check in there today that this was something totally different. Maybe can ask Yelp to change the name - also the "Papierwaren" since this is in the French speaking part of the country. But anyway, there is one word to describe this store and that is FANTASTIC! This is a craft store and I cannot imagine what somebody into crafts could want/need that isn't available at this AVA store. We were there today getting stuff to get stuff for table settings. Need table cloth runners and place mats, along with some candle holders and name tags for the table? Its all here. They also have little gift boxes (which I thought quite pricey for what they are), wedding albums, tons of stickers, all kinds of stationary, pens, pencils, markets, greeting cards, rubber stamps, books, you name it. There is also a section for you if you happen to be in the restaurant business and need pizza boxes, tons of coffee cups with lids, freezer bags for your left-overs... Seriously, anything you want, you can get it here. Next time I go I must bring my camera so that I can post some photos. Oh, its late August and they already have Halloween stuff out, so get an early start on your decorating and creating needs. PS - Store name changed so disregard the first paragraph!

One time a saw an old couple coming out of the shop en they really had to work hard to get out of the door. But they finally succeeded, so don't worry. But when you ask the person from the shop for help she will know where everything is and she can make some great suggestions!
Nice shop, considering there are not many shops like this in Brussels (other than Veritas, Ava and…read moreSchleiper) who sell some similar products. A bit outside the center, but close to a metro (Tomberg). They sell among other things fabric, paint, clay, cake decorating supplies, yarn (brand Katia), Washi tape. Also, they a had lot of craft related stuff for kids. If you would only have the time to visit one craft shop in Brussels, I would recommend going to Schleiper at place Jourdan instead because its bigger.
Not a lot of arts n crafts stores in Brussels, didn't find any cupcake fun stuff stores either so…read moreCreacorner had to do it. It seems to be a big store but the amount of space they occupy for certain crafts (beads and pearls, scrapbooking) makes other departments look tiny (bake supplies); that being said I think the choice of products are limited which makes it impossible to compare prices, and you have no option but to take the more expensive brands. The store is located in an upper side of Brussels, but I'm used to a more down to earth shopping experience with more choices and lower prices. What is really fun is when you take a kid to the shop and let them pick something to work on at home! This is one of those FUN shops to do with kids.

Atchoum caught our attention for the display of colors from the buttons, lace, ribons and all things nice to make other nice things. Whether you are into the DIY jewelry trend of you want just to get a 'i got this in Brussels' kind of piece, then go there.

Although it seems very big at a first glance, there mainly have a a small selection of many different things. The store is great if you are not looking for particular items, but just general craft supplies (yarn, paper, scrapbooking, project life, origami paper, fabric), but I have been disappointed at least 3-4 times because their stock is very limited. For instance, I was looking for ironing beads in black and they had all colors except for black, they did not have safety eyes, or rings with width of 30cm in stock. So, definitely pay a visit if you are into crafts since they do have many inspiring things and craft supplies, but don't go looking for that particular stamp/yarn etc.
