The Salt mine tours were more than we expected and would highly recommend them! Educational and full of fun with the ride into and out of the mines,as well as two slides within! We took the Eagle's Nest tour after doing a great deal of research on trying to visit this location…read moreon our own (which seems very complicated if you do not read / speak German). It was amazing! Our tour guide was knowledgeable about the area, history, and culture. We would have liked to have had a bit more time at the location but did enjoy that we were able to have a lovely lunch at the nearby town of Berchtesgaden. Adding time to this tour would make it at least a 5-6 hour tour which may be a bit much for those who have limited time in the Salzburg area. @sturdygirlstyle #sturdygirlstyle

It's so interesting that Hitler minded the building of Eagles Nest above the alps. It is 7000 ft…read moreelevation . The place is seated on the top of the mountain overlooking the magnificent breathtaking landscape of Germany. Reservation in advanced is highly recommended. The bus will take you up , passed thru tunnels and elevators to bring you to the eagle's nest. Such a great experience. You need to read the historical events and prominent people that visited beside Hitler in the upper deck. Wear good hiking shoes and sticks.

Other than that, I would say F*** anything about Hitler but they certainly don't glorify him or anything like that, which Germany is very good at. Lucky for us we got to go up on a perfect day, it was gorgeous and the Country side is incredible. We did the tour, hung out for a bit then hiked down back to the buses instead of taking the elevator, which is pretty nice little walk. I would say this is a must in town, and the pricing is pretty fair.
