I'm more angered because it was my wife who dealt with them, since she (to my relief and with my gratitude) handles the bulk of our tax prep. Giardina & Bresett failed us two different ways, and seriously. First, they encouraged us to use a program they provided to enter our tax information. My wife (who has better things to do) diligently filled out the forms months before the deadline, but had trouble getting the program to accept the information. When she called the office for help, she was told immediately that no one else was having problems and that she must be doing something wrong. After further attempts, she finally abandoned the on-line form and filled out the information on paper, after wasting many hours. Some weeks later, Gardina & Bresett sent out an email to say that there were problems with the program and clients should wait till it was fixed. If they had checked when she called, it would have saved her (and likely other clients) a lot of time. When the taxes were prepared, she diligently checked the numbers and discovered an error by Giardina & Bresett that would have cost us nearly a thousand dollars. The accountant acknowledged the error--with no particular apology--and corrected the filing, but it left me wondering what we were paying for, if we knew the law better than they did. It was easy enough for us to find a better accountant--you too might want to look elsewhere.
