I'm holding a 'bait fish' in my right hand Captain Kevin cut it up for me for sashimi!

This was the best crew that I have fished with on the Big Island. I've used several fishing charters and it hasn't been a good experience. This charter was different because they were invested in trying to get you a fish. They tried live bait at one point but there were too many sharks that was eating the bait fish we were trying to catch. But catching bait fish itself was fun too as the local call 2 feet tuna...bait. I did end up catching an 80 lbs Stripped Marlin which added to the experience but what impressed me was that they were invested in you having fun. I will be using them again once I'm back on the Big Island. Thanks Kevin and Darren!

Although I only caught one fish, it was the beautiful blue marlin. It made the day! The boat is great, plenty of room for a family of six, either in the cabin or up top in the fly bridge. Captain Kevin had the experience and made it fun, but lee stole the show on making sure I was comfortable and bringing the big fish in. The only thing I didn't like was the 100 pound rule, since I'm a fish guy, but I also understand about not wasting fish. I would think that since I chartered the boat, any fish caught would be mine. If I wanted to sell the fish, then it should be spilt with my share going towards the cost of the boat. Other than that Kevin is very friendly and will go for any fish you want to go for. I like that :-) I would recommend this charter to anyone who just wants to catch fish!!

My family and I had such an amazing time with the Ku'uipo crew on our private half day charter. The captain and deck hand were super friendly and it was clear they were doing everything they could for us to have a fun, safe trip. After about two hours of trolling, we landed this beauty of a shortnose spearfish. The deck hand saw it swimming beside the boat and our talented captain made sure we were in the right place at the right time to land it. It was an awesome day, topped off with the captain cutting up the fish for us dockside. We've done three charters with different boats, but the Ku'uipo crew is by far the best - nicest boat with the friendliest crew. 10/10 would recommend.

    nice mahi mahi

We went for 3/4 day. Fishing was slow, but we heard all the boats were slow. We caught one nice mahi mahi and the captain filleted enough for us for dinner and suggested Splashers to cook it up. We went directly there and the fish was fantastic. Getting back to the charter, Captain Kevin and first hand Lee were very friendly and easy to talk with. No big egos but offered little snippets of info as we trolled around. Boat was fantastic, very clean and everything you need (except the fish). Overall great.

Booked a day before and got lucky to have Captain Kevin and his son, and Jason, who just got certified as a captain!

We booked a 5 hour fishing excursion with Cpt. Craig, with three of us in attendance. The boat was…read moreroomy enough for us without tripping over each other. We enjoyed our trip tremendously and Cpt. Craig was very informative about local history if inclined to ask. All equipment and bait was provided, and included in the overall cost. Although there are no guarantees you would catch fish, when fishing, we were fortunate enough to do so. We each landed a yellow fin tuna. We had never used the gear necessary to hook up and land these delectable fish, but Cpt. Craig was patient and informative on how to do so. At the tail end of our trip he filleted our catch and bagged it up for us. We were provided beverages and snacks, if interested. There was great communication before and up to our charter. I/we highly recommend this charter! Should we ever return to the Big Island we will do this charter again, no doubt. I may, if the others were inclined, charter it for the whole day. Thank you, Cpt. Craig, for an outstanding adventure. For me, personally, it was the funnest part of our week stay on the island. Here are a couple of tips. (1) Keep in mind - there is not a restroom on this boat. So, you should plan to flush the pipes before launching unless you want to waste valuable time returning to the launch ramp. (2) You can get some of your catch through the TSA and Ag checkpoints at the airport if desired. We froze some of our fillets and had them in zip bags, placed within our carry-on luggage.

He made sure we were comfortable on the boat. My husband and I were a little rusty and he explained everything to us. We laughed when my husband and I caught tuna but by the time we reeled them in the dolphins surrounding us got to the fish before we did. We relocated and ended our day each catching Wahoo. I was able to catch some sun lounging in front of his boat. We made a friend and the next time we visit we will definitely be on Craig's boat again. Highly recommend. I wish I could give him a 10 star!!! Craig, thank you for making our visit that much prefer special. Alpha!
