CASH ONLY! Our…read morefamily patriarch said this is one of his and his wife's favorite grub spot and wanted Big Bro and I to try it. Who are we to say NO to our elders, right?! Plenty of parking spaces available. On a hot day, their security guard would even come to you with an umbrella and will walk you with it all the way to the door. The entire restaurant sits on stilts above a fishpond. It has a very rustic look and feel. We were seated immediately and our spot overlooked the entire pond. Party of 6. There were so many things I wanted to try. Patriarch went ahead and put an order of dishes he recommended and told us to add on whatever else we wanted to try. That we did. Patriarch's favorite is their own version of pinakbet. I understand why - this might have been the best one I've had compared to all the restaurants I've been to around this area. The vegetables were fresh - like they just plucked 'em out seconds before throwing them into the pot fresh - and so full of flavor. The meat was tender. The seasoning was perfect. Would recommend this all day. Crispy fried shrimp was what it was; lightly seasoned and fried crispy. Nephew and I popped one after another and couldn't stop... we even debated about taking an order to-go to snack later during the day! I haven't seen crispy kangkong on a menu since probably the last time I visited the homeland. It was a repeat must have. The leaves were dipped and fried in thin batter. How they managed to crisp the leaves are beyond me, but no matter: they were light and delicious. The crispy dinuguan got me curious since I'm more used to the regular version. It's basic, really - they fry the meat and later on slater the dinuguan sauce after. The only reason it stood out is because of the "crispy" part of it. Otherwise, it's just like regular dinuguan. The sinigang was a great palate cleanser. Good amount of tang, plenty of seafood to share with our party. The calamari was nothing out of the ordinary. Good crispy outside, nice chew inside. Pretty average. The bangus sisig was my favorite. I've had my share but this one is a little better than the rest. It might just be the way they seasoned it, but there was something different about it. Nephews said this is their favorite here so they never fail to order it whenever they visit. I understand. Service was mediocre. What made the experience even better was the warm breeze that came through the whole time we were there. It was so relaxing! Now THAT I really liked. 3.5 - 3.75 for now. Coming back, for sure.

It's been a long minute since my last run here (we're talking pre-Yelp era!) and since we're around…read morethe area, I thought a stop was long overdue. It's been so long that I don't even remember what the place looked like but I'll say I was pretty impressed with the overall appearance. Two floors worth of seating situated next to water. What a view! Plenty of tables open and we chose to sit by the water. There are a couple of boatmen selling goodies from the ocean. (Not sure if they're affiliated with the restaurant, though.) The only thing I wanted to try was the crispy kangkong which came out less than crispier than I preferred but pretty good for a starter. (I left it to my party to choose whatever else they wanted.) Got to taste the binagoongan which had a hint of sweetness to it. Not bad either. The crispy catfish was amazing! That fish was no doubt fresh and meaty and juicy with the perfect seasoning. Didn't even need the dip. There was an order of sinigang and kilawin but didn't get to try those since I was focused on the fried fish and got full from it. Heh... FOOD: 4. SERVICE: 3. VALUE: 4. PARKING: Private lot. Plenty. Security guards were available with umbrellas to walk you to and from your car - suggest giving them a small tip. OVERALL: 3.5. Only thing I was really disappointed about is the nilasing na hipon - it wasn't available. (That was the one thing I had a long time ago that I really loved.) Boooo... Even more sad and disappointing is finding a pet monkey that's caged. That's no life, why bother having him/her in there just to imprison it. Otherwise, good stop. Hopefully they have that one I really what next time...

Horrible experience. Food was so mediocre. Long wait for the food. Don't order anything with crab…read moreor you'll be very disappointed. Staff does not communicate well with each other. Owner/manager was the worst. She started yelling at us when we told her that the food was terrible. She told us that we were complaining cause we did not want to pay. If I had lost my cool I would have slapped her with some dollar bills. I hope this restaurant closes because of her horrible character. One star rating is too much to give this place.
