Nodo is right at the corner of Byxtorget (which in English would literately translate into "The…read morePants Square"). This little place have all the possibility to be a nice little Italian bistro if they really wanted and had the ambition to. Unfortunately, it's nothing of the sort. The decor is nice, scaled down and modern in a color scheme of dark wood and bright somber colors with modern decoration. The problem? They are more inclined to serve quickly prepared lunches for the merchant- and commercial-working community during lunch rush hour than anything else. Because of this the place is always over-crowded, people running in and out, stressful staff along with sub-par quality food. Despite my lackluster experiences I do come here from time to time, not out of excitement, but out of the simple fact that I need a lunch and prefer to stay away from the majority of sleazy fast-food joints. This is without a doubt better. For lunch they serve about three or four different dishes, one of those usually being a soup. They have a small salad buffet that is fresh enough and provide something more to the plate. The food is usually at least acceptably prepared, but never exciting or intriguing. However, one particular lunch I had a plate of pulled chicken that I imagined chewing on a piece of yarn had to be more tender, moist and flavorsome than that. The most underwhelming dish they have ever served. But I've had some ok to tasty dishes too, don't get me wrong. So I get their catch 22 dilemma. Lunch guests in a hurry are easy to please, it pays ok with a minimum of work required. But I can't help to ponder the idea of redoing this place into a classical bistro with proper dinner servings with some real southern Europe/Italian feel to it. It'd be such a great addition to this small towns pretty meager offerings of interesting cuisine. But as always; leaps of faith are laden with risks, but without risks comes neither great rewards. This place has the possibility of something great, but I haven't seen anyone going for it. Yet. For now, if you need a lunch that is better than a sloppy and greasy burger, this will do the trick. Don't expect any overwhelming surprises.

The coffee house area is on the top floor, with some tables near the counter while some others are on the adjacent side with people passing through in the middle going from one store to the other. Because of this, the environment is in no way either inspiring, calm or pleasant. More so it's loud, to the brink of disturbing. But in all fairness, location isn't everything even if it's something. Today, me and my wife had been to the gym working the living dead out of us (finally free of a three week long infection), and since both of us had obligations afterwards we picked this place for a quick lunch as we had some other errands in the same mall before heading home. Having mostly sweets, cookies and the stuff normally found at a coffee house, they also have a smaller selection of lunches. The fact that the plates are put on small boring plastic trays does feel extremely cheap to the brink of serving disaster. The staff behind the counter also appear mostly stressed, unexperienced and flustered. One running out of the kitchen just shouted "you have to do the final ingredients on this!" and threw one of the plates down right between me and the one serving us at the moment. Bad form. Alas, we both had a salad that consisted of a base with pine nuts, croutons, mix of greens, cucumber, red onion, feta and cottage cheese, olives, red quinoa etc. To this, you got to pick your topping of either prawns, parma ham, chicken and some more choices I can't exactly remember. I had the parma while my wife had the chicken. Truthfully? It was delish, bordering on excellent. A really great, well-put together and balanced salad that left me satisfied. I also tasted my wife's chicken, that too was moist with great mix of herbs and spices. The fact that you're sitting in a loud crowd and exceptionally boring environment is what drags the final rating down (my salad is on its own worth 3 out of 5). Had it been a warm summer day instead of the present cold winter and their really great roof terrace (on top of the mall) with a view over half the town open, the rating would be a worthy 3/5. Also, it's a tad over-priced compared to service and quality.
