This store is terrific; it is a full-service convenience store inside a gas station property. It has everything you would need if traveling, running errands, or needing some late-night items. An amazing array of produce, food, household items, and drinks. They also have a small eating area if you are on the road and don't want to eat in your car. There was a young girl working on the night of May 24th at 10:00/10:3 PM who could definitely use some customer service training. She was excessively rude. We were passing through and drove off our route to fill our tank and get a car wash. We paid for both at the pump, but found out the car wash was closed at 10:00. We went inside for a refund, as we do not live in the are, and she snapped at us ... "It's closed." Ummm, yeah, we just mentioned that and we asking for a refund. Thankfully there was a very pleasant young man who was able to help us. Not entirely negative experience, but I do hope this message gets to management so they can help her readjust her attitude towards customers. read more

So glad that KwikStars have joined the neighborhood. Great gas, fair prices, always super clean and I really like the food selection. Inside the store they always have a true "C-store" selection with basic groceries, snacks and supplies. I really like their car wash as well. It is way better than the coin-operated spray wash across the street. I also really like the chicken tenders and breakfast burritos. Always warm, always good quality. Bottom line, Kwikstar is a nicer, newer and cleaner Casey's. Pretty similar to a Kum & Go, though they have more food options. read more

My family and I have been to this location several times, and every time is a positive experience. Last night our car battery died in the parking lot and the employees were amazingly kind and helpful. They jumped it for us even though it took several tries due to the condition of the battery, and when it looked like we might be stranded for the night, one off-duty employee even offered us a ride. Thankfully the car started working but we really appreciated that offer and all the help that was given! In addition to the amazing service they provide, the food is also good and the restrooms are always clean when we go in. 5 stars for sure! read more

It has taken me about a month of checking out many of the foods here to decide to write a review. From the always friendly staff to stellar customer service, I need to give this place a 5 star. It's just THAT GOOD. See pics. I'm pretty sure most of them are mine. I've been to three of KwikStar's locations over the last month or two to a total of about 45 visits and am amazed at the cleanliness, staff friendliness, consistency in products, chicken tenders that are awesome, and everything else that makes these stores and this one, exceptional. I can get about anything I want for lunch on a daily. Even fish sandwiches on Fridays and pork sandwiches that both rival the competitive McDonald's. The soups are really good. The re are a wide variety of drinks. And I've even started eating fresh fruit daily. All because of how the store is set up. Easy to get in, check out and leave. Rolls and donuts, both rivaling the tastes of Casey's, KrispyKreme and Cinnabon. The pizzas can be baked there and taken out and the ones I've gotten were very good. Good prices on many of the foods I eat. Easy peasy. And when I did have an issue, Peter offered stellar customer service. I even mostly get gasoline at this location now. And, while I haven't used it yet, I bought a car wash pass. Good prices. Convenient to i35, about 1 mile west on Oralabor Road. Open 24/7. Stopped here for gas and to use the restroom on my way through Iowa. Was a nice well lit area and could stretch and get my gas and use the restroom. I filled my car with gas($13) and went inside to use the restroom. I had been driving for nine hours prior to stopping here and my only stops were to perform a #1; pardon the candidness. I went to their restroom which was nice and clean and chose a stall to use. Let me reference at this point; I have Crohn's Disease. This can make using the restroom a bit of a lengthy affair. Google it. Not fun. After I had been in the restroom about 15 minutes someone knocked on the door and said Housekeeping. I responded with Yeah. They said sorry and closed the door. Fast forward 10 minutes and someone else knocked on the door and I said Yes. They said Just checking your gas is beeping. I said OK. Fast forward another 10 minutes and I go to pay for my gas and they say It's been too long, I have to get help. Lady comes to help and as I am paying three Ankeny Police walk in the door and say Where are they? and the lady says that's him right there. They called the Police on me for spending too much time in the restroom. There were at least five police officers there as well as four police vehicles that I saw. Highly inappropriate. They refused to give me an employees name so I had to get the Incident number from the police department. They kept telling me that they were worried about me; yet they had opened the restroom door twice and I gave an audible response both times. Absolutely inappropriate in every way. The worst fried chicken I ever had. Dry any salty to the point the it's inedible. I left a previous review when we tried it fresh, now I've tried it after it's been refrigerated overnight...worse than any grocery store deli chicken, and even worse than the old frozen dinner fried chicken that was .59 cents or sometimes even 3 for $1.00.
