The place was large and the Shelves are comfortably spaced. You can walk around without bumping into another person. The place was clean. It is a relatively large gas station and convenient store. I asked the young man if I can pay with my Apple Pay for my coffee which he was able to see it was not filled all the way up and I had no lid on it because they did not have lids. And he said he will not charge me for it I told him I have $20 cash in my pocket and he said it is on the house. Random act of generosity... or maybe a pre-meditated one, either way I highly appreciate it. The place was relatively busy especially at the pumps on a Sunday evening.

The cold sandwiches were better than the corporate places as I think they make their own, at least there was no name on the label. The bread on the Hoagie had a homemade taste and texture and the wich was thicker and about two dollars cheaper than say the nearest Kwik Trip. The staff is always genuinely friendly, the store is clean and the gas is ALWAYS about $0.20 cheaper. Not only is it cheaper than 95% of stores in the metro (I'll get to that in a second) but it's high quality fuel. I get 30-50 more miles per tank consistently. Back to the pricing: I live in Minneapolis. 30 minutes away. My husband works five minutes from Kochs Korner. I am disabled and on a fixed income so I really have to think about my spending. I will typically time out my necessary trips to Loretto for when I'm low on fuel so I can take advantage of the savings. I can't fathom how many stations I pass on the 25 mile trip but I ALWAYS look up gas along my route to find the cheapest option and it's never fails that Kochs Korner wins.

BUT there is NEVER receipt paper at their pumps so you are forced to go inside for your receipt. Again, frustrating, but still not the problem. I had paid for gas AND a carwash at the pump, & when the receipt WITH THE CARWASH CODE did not print I had to go inside to get my receipt. Unfortunately the cashier could not find my receipt but printed out two other receipts that were not mine then she assured me it wouldn't have been possible to purchase a carwash at the pump. I believed her, my mistake, purchased a second carwash for $14 for which I id get my receipt with the code. I checked my credit card app and realized the pending amounts were both on there INCLUDING the first carwash that I now had no code for. Fine. I took a picture of the gas total and a screen shot of my credit card showing the purchases & went back inside. I was told she could not refund the first carwash code NOR could she provide me with a second code since I now paid for two carwashes. I asked to speak to a manager & was told there was no manager on duty at this time & I would have to come back during regular business hours to get this settled. Fine. I drove around to the carwash & as I waited in line it just stopped working with someone in it! On the following Monday on my way to work I stopped to speak with a manager. The cashier pretended to seek him out, then came back to say she couldn't find him & maybe he was in the bathroom or outside having a smoke. I said I will wait, & let her wait on the customer behind me. Miraculously she was able to find the manager this time & I was told he could only refund the carwash for which I had a receipt EVEN THOUGH I showed him proof I had purchased gas & another carwash. He credited my card for the second carwash, then when he realized I wasn't leaving without the credit of the first one as well he gave me cash from the register for the first. When I brought up the fact that this could have all been taken care of three days ago had there been a manager on duty I was told he was the ONLY manager at this location & said there was no way he could work 24/7. Wow. I realize no one wants to work 24/7 & I suggested maybe they should have a second or third manager to rotate in then to which he said "This is just Speedway's policy, to have ONLY ONE MANAGER at each location!" I am grateful that I eventually got both carwashes refunded, but honestly they all handled this poorly! The first cashier was not trained to handle simple tasks such as locating a receipt, providing a code to replace the first carwash paid for, & refunding the second carwash. On top of that her customer service skills were non-existent. She could care less that she had just ripped me off. And three days later when I was able to FINALLY speak with a manager, after clearly being lied to by yet another cashier who "couldn't find the manager" the manager was rude & I had to repeatedly request him to refund both carwashes since it had stopped before I could even wash my car. This location has Horrible customer service, they are CONSTANTLY out of receipt paper at the pumps, & now this! I am NEVER stopping at this location EVER again! I asked to get it fixed was told that I had to go to their shop Collison Corner, in Maple Plaine. The disaster began when I took it to their repair shop were they clearly were not qualified, and painted it, stripped it and repainted it again. They gave me the car back 3 times being multiple colors. It took 6 weeks for them to give me a garbage paint job. It literally opened and cracked all over the side panels, hood, door panels. I spent months trying to work with John O'Sullivan, who owns the gas station, who just stopped answering, his friend Curt the owner of Collison would not take my calls, after promising to fix it for months. Curts front desk lady told me stop calling he is not going to bother calling you back nor will he fix it.I have pictures taken before, during and after from the Lexus dealership. I also have emails and photos of all the errors Collison Corners made. It is over $8,000 to repair at the dealership that actually knows what they are doing, and neither business will fix my car. They will not reply or answer calls and have left my car a disaster. I live in the neighborhood will go anywhere but these Holidays or Collison Corner. SKIP
