When I got back from my road trip to Des Moines, I needed to refuel my rental car. I did a quick search and found this gas station. It was easy to find and pull into. I used my BP app to unlock the gas pump and pay for my gas purchase. I love this app, especially when it was 2°C outside with wind gusts. Instead of fumbling for my credit card and standing outside the gas pump longer to get my card approved to start filling up my gas tank, I did everything in my car. When the gas pump was unlocked, I simply fuelled my car, took my receipt, and headed into my car to warm up. This gas station is unique. I have never seen any BP convenience store in the Twin Cities sell vapes, tackle, bait, and hookah flavours. It's truly unique. I didn't need any of them, but it's good to know where to go if I do. The fishing supplies make sense, as this BP is near Long Meadow Lake. I'm guessing that while folks fish and wait for a bite on their line, they vape and smoke, with fancier folks doing the hookah thing. I dropped by this gas station before I returned my car rental at the airport. I also had another seamless transaction, topping off my gas tank and using the app to accomplish this task. I like the former because I can pay for gas through the BP app without whipping out my credit card. Sadly, I couldn't log in to my BP account in late September. The site was being annoying and wasn't authenticating properly. Instead, I hit this Speedway. Speedway also has an app, but you can't pay for gas on it. You can scan your app's QR code for your rewards at the pump. On the rare occasion that the QR code doesn't scan properly, you can submit your receipt on the app and it works well. I've been to this gas station a few times now. I never have an issue finding an available gas station. Filling up has always been smooth. It's also impeccably clean. This Speedway has a convenience store. I have yet to set foot in it. I was here a couple of weeks ago. It was unseasonably hot. Seeing firewood in front of me felt weird. It's perfect if you need logs for your fireplace to get some here. The location is decent. It's off Cedar Avenue, which is convenient. It's also close to where I normally stay in Bloomington, near Mall of America. It's a good gas station. (410)

I arrived at the restaurant a little early, so thanks to Google Maps, this Speedway served as my fill-up. It's on the corner of 60th and Portland, and located right next to a very architecturally interesting Dairy Queen. I entered on the 60th side as there's significant road work on Portland when I was there. So for what I needed (a rental car fill up - self serve), with easy access and minimal wait, this place does what it's supposed to. The neighborhood bonus was the before mentioned Dairy Queen and a most interesting Know Name Records across the street. And it was easy to get back to the 5-8 club on time.

It has fair priced gas, easy access to the streets and highway. Features a car wash and fair grocery items. Staff here is a hit or miss but it was worth going too for my casual visits.

Sorry to have to leave this honest review but I've come here twice in a few months for a deluxe car…read morewash only. The owner personally inspects your car if it doesn't get clean or dried. The first time I explained that he bought the drier type that doesn't swivel, the cheap hard mounted type that does a poor job of cleaning. Today I came through again and figured as much - no change to the dryer - I'll accept that but just wanted a clean car. Purchased the deluxe wash and pulled away only to realize my windshield was streaked. I pulled over in the Aldi lot and checked and sure enough all the Sid's of my black car were still dirty. I figured maybe they would look at it and give me a second pass through. But when I returned the same POC gentleman first checked to see if I had been on his camera system going through and then checked the last four of my credit card while I patiently waited. He then said let's go look at your car. Without a word I pointed out my black Subaru. I showed him where the finger could easily rub off dirt and my windshield and offered to him that maybe a second pass would take care of it. His reply was, "No, you get no repeat!" I said that's really sh#*!%* service. He mumbled under his breath on the way out the door maybe he should call the soap company. Ever since Speedway has taken over this store (2021) it has deteriorated. Hot food is rarely fresh or non-existent, and pan handlers sit right outside the door. Most of the problem seems to be a corporate problem - the last dozen times I have been in here there is only a single person working here. Extra star is only due to overworked, able, and pleasant people who work here.
