    Bowl of traditional lamb stew

Nice pub in a walkable part of Kilkenny. Some of the wait staff was a little frazzled but it was busy and nearing the end of the day, so understandable. Food was decent enough. The star of the show for us was the sticky toffee pudding. Might not seem like much but to us (we're American), we had an eye opening experience. Neither of us had ever had this treat before but I can tell you I was inspired to start looking up recipes after the first bite. We'll be introducing this to our families at Christmas time!

Kyteler's Inn has a fantastic vibe, from the exterior facade to the interior rustic charm. We went here off a recommendation from a worker at a local craft shop, and I'm glad we did. They offered your standard Irish Pub Fare, but was well executed. I got the roast beef special, just to avoid getting the same staples I've been getting at each Irish Pub I visit. The roast beef was quite flavorful and layered in a nice sauce, but unfortunately the meat itself was much tougher than I was expecting. The vegetable sides help break up the meal well. We had a sticky toffee pudding for dessert that was very well executed and had a wonderful flavor to it. Overall, I'd recommend this place as one of the better options in the city.

Brie with the jelly. Totally worth the app

Cool place, they are very festive and have a story on the back to their menu. Special is roast beef stew, but got the lamb instead. Brie is a solid app, didn't care for the fish cake for the price. Kitchen closes 7:45p so come a little earlier. Very nice server and an evening style cozy ambiance. Truly Inn style.

We came here for an early dinner on our first night in town. RUDE is the only way to describe the servers. My daughter and I wanted to sit at a four top in the bar. We were told several times by different people they are reserved for four tops. Not a single four top walked in while we were there. However, multiple two tops walked out on them. They would rather loose money then let two people sit there. This is one of the most ridiculous rules that I see places follow. The food was okay but we would never come back and we are here for a week.

Came here for lunch with a group of 7 and was pleased with our experience! Love the ambience of this place and it's supposedly haunted. The decor was fun to look around at. We thought it was funny (as Americans) that we got seated right under the American flag and a picture of JFK haha We were seated right away so that was nice to not have to wait for a table. I had their witches brew beer which was very dark and tasty! Their menu was great because it seemed like everyone could find something on the menu they liked, even pickier eaters. I had the fish and chips and it was great! I even enjoyed the peas on the side. It was one of the better entrees I had while I was in Ireland. Food was served quick as well. They weren't able to split up our bill for us so just a heads up to people dining in groups that prefer to do that!

Tourist trap with a medieval witch backstory theme. Pretty cool setting with a downsized, Hogwarts style dining room. Food was on the low end of acceptable. I had the lamb stew which was tasty but a small portion that didn't include even a slice of bread, so I felt hungry after finishing. My son got the steak sandwich and ate just a couple bites because it was bland and tough. My wife's pizza was reminiscing of something you would pick up at a gas station. To top it off, I watched one of the waitstaff walk out of a stall in the bathroom and not even stop at the sink. Frankly, I think there are much better restaurants within a few short steps of this place.

Fun night out. We thought it would be a long wait on a Friday night but it only took about 15 minutes to get a seat. We had a fun server. The photo of my meal, Chicken & Ham Vol au Vents, doesn't do it justice. It was absolutely delicious. Complete comfort food. We shared the fried Brie which was tasty. Highly recommend a visit.

The restaurant is very unique, looking inside and nicely decorated. The service was very well. The fish and chips was good, but it was not crispy the way we would expect. You pay at the bar on the way out.

    Enjoying the Witches Brew.

The innwas recommend by our B&B hosts and it was great. The Witches Brew, unique to the inn, was good. Live local music made the evening great.

Definitely 5 stars for character, atmosphere, and attentive waitstaff. We enjoyed the food which we'd describe as good but not gourmet. We had lamb stew and fish and chips. I'm not sure I've had plaice before. It was more flavorful than most fried fish. I liked it. Our deserts we're good, too. Bonus: the stew was gluten free! I needed a lot of pints to pass the time. We arrived early to get meals and a good table for the music. Bonus 2: Guinness 0.0 is on tap

The music and people were delightful. Complete Irish pub experience. Service with a smile and we didn't eat so the witches brew is untested.

Great food friendly service. Burger are great and so is the stew. It's one of the oldest Inns in the country and definitely worth the visit.

We stayed in four different cities, and traveled to many more, had lunch or dinner in a variety of pubs, and most, if they had music, were playing 2000's American pop hit junk. Some of those other pubs did have live music schedules for later evening, but we were trying to get our pub experiences at lunch and then 6p-9p range each day so we could get to sleep for the next day's exploring. It's also really nice that this pub is along the water (the river through Kilkenny) and some of the seating overlooks it via window, including open windows if you like. The kitchen closes early here, even on Fridays; 8pm during our June 2026 visit, so plan around that if you are intending to get dinner. Food-wise: * Really enjoyed the beef stew; good price no complaints. * Margherita pizza is great * Caprese Salad is not expensive but pretty mediocre * Seafood Chowder was very good * Tortellini was fine for Ireland Take all the above in context with the overall Irish food scene, which is mostly average at best. These feelings are based on seven days of eating around the country, so when I'm saying the beef stew was really good, that's compared to the rest of Ireland where I had one I liked more and a few others that were not good at all. Drink pricing is on par with other tourist cities; not bad. As with most pubs, beer and liquor selection is limited outside of the extensive Irish Whiskey options. For example, two rums, one bourbon, beers were what we encountered everywhere and no deviation. Service was similar to the rest of Ireland; initial order taking and then you have to flag someone down for anything after that.

We got in and snagged a table in the perfect location. We started off with food. The fish and chips were amazing. The fish wasn't too breaded or oily. The piece of fish was huge! The fresh green onions and homemade tater sauce elevated the dish. We stayed at the pub until Irish music started, which was so good! Hearing the tin whistle, guitar, and beautiful Irish singing was such a treat. We enjoyed a handful of cocktails and Guinness! Very enjoyable night!

The World's End is a very authentic Irish Pub, in the very authentic Irish town of Kilkenny, with a cast of VERY colorful regulars. Think Cheers, but SOAKED in at least 10x more alcohol. The front entrance has a little diner feel to it, but all the action happens in the back bar through another set of doors. We walked in at 3 in the afternoon with full intentions of 1 drink and a quick bite...but that all changed when the bartender and locals heard our accent. Clearly not Irish. Before long, everybody was chatting us up, asking where we're from, our plans in Ireland, offering us drinks, pouring us drinks, offering us more drinks. I'm pretty sure we're now Facebook friends with a few of them. One of the locals, fascinated that we're from California, stuffed a bunch of change in the jukebox and selected every song about or with the word California in it. We stayed for at least two hours, half of it listening to the likes of California Girls, Hotel California, California Love, & It Never Rains in Southern California. Good times.
