Our starters, soup, carpaccio and crab salad were all very good. The Rinderfilet was excellent although we should have ordered it made rare. The ochsenbache almost melted on the tongue. If I had one night in Sylt and no reservation at a Michelin star restaurant - this is where I would go.

They had English menus available, which I truly appreciated. The restaurant is in the oldest house on the island of Sylt. It was romantic, yet casual. Service was fine, efficient and to the point. We ordered the following: Octopus carpaccio 3/5 Leek potato soup 5/5 Stewed North Sea cod 3.5/5 Beef roulade 4/5 We had cucumber salad in cream and boiled potatoes that came with the main dishes. We did not have a reservation but were told we could have a table for about two hours, which was plenty of time. It was on a Thursday around 7p. Overall, the food was hearty and the portions were generous. The ingredients were simple and fresh, as organic as they could get. But the food lacked seasoning, richness, to really bring out the flavors. My palate had higher expecations for such a quaint staple.
