The experience starts when you walk in and are greeted by the exceedingly fabulous staff (all of them from the check in crew to bartender, wait staff, cleaning staff etc. are ridiculously good) who start taking care of you the moment you step foot through the doors to when you leave. Case in point : we got there sooner than the check in time so had to wait for the room to be readied. We were seated in the guest area which by the way is just the perfect decor to complement the fabulous view of Carbis Bay and offered tea. In the conversation we happened to mention that the spousal unit was vegan...and magically all the hotel staff, even people we had not seen seemed to know about it and importantly remember it when we ordered any food or snacks and made attempts to make sure she had something vegan to consume. The room was spare yet well appointed and lacking for nothing and had a great view of the garden. Morning breakfast is sumptuous with fresh fruit, a killer home made granola, hot breakfast made to order, juices, coffee and tea. Impeccable service is the motto and when your day starts like this, how can it even dare to get bad? The classic English breakfast takes the interpretation of perfectly poached eggs, beautiful toast, charred baby tomatoes on the vine, a grilled portobello, a bit of grilled goat cheese. Of course with the crazy good service, someone had bothered to go and get vegan sausage for my wife which had her swooning. Dinner one night had them making Moroccan veggies for the wife and I had a carpaccio appetizer with a fish for dinner. Everything was perfectly cooked, served and consumed! The entire stay in these altogether pleasant surroundings, with friendly and attentive service capped a perfect holiday. If we win the lotto...we are taking up semi permanent residence there!

I had never heard of St Erth before having to change here, but it has a really good website (http://www.st-erth.co.uk/home.html) (putting the nearby popular holiday destinations to shame) and the people living here seem to really like it. I do find having to change here annoying mind you, when travelling between 2 bigger towns, but that's the way the rail is set up in this part of the world.

From the outset it was obvious that that the owners were highly passionate about providing an unsurpassable level of service. It was obvious that such passion in the care and attention paid to guests was honest. This is not to say that the level of attention paid to was overbearing. Indeed, our hosts appeared to appreciate that travellers and tourists often want their holiday to begin as soon as possible and not spend a great deal of time having the rules of a guest house laid out. Therefore, we were given a warm introduction, had our luggage taken to our room, and had only the most fundamental of information explained to us. Overall, service was 10/10 We stayed in the penthouse suite. My partner did not hesitate to mention that the bed was the most comfortable she had ever been lucky enough to witness. The room and all of its furniture and utilities were spotless. There was not one thing we would have chosen to change regarding the room. It really is worth staying in the penthouse, if only to appreciate the unhindered view across the harbour. There was more than enough storage space for all of our belongings. The interior decoration of the suite was ideal in its white tones. A wide range of breakfast options were available, limited only by one's own appetite. The breakfast specials were particularly delightful. I for one enjoyed the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs on an english muffin, while my partner enjoyed mushrooms on toast. Overall, what we enjoyed best was how approachable the staff seemed and how friendly and warm they were towards guests. Also, the room was without fault whatsoever. If you can, the penthouse is quite simply the best option.

Still plenty of parking left. It was a nice, sunny, picture-perfect day. There is no entrance fee for Land's End. Just the fixed fair priced parking rate. I've read many reviews stating that Land's End became like a theme park, a circus. And I would say that's too harsh. Yes, there are shops, selling lots of souvenirs and touristy stuff. There are games, attractions too. But there are some fun items to be found in the shops. We bought some, we had fun. And there are several food options. Some stalls for a quick bit or a sit-down restaurant with more options. We just grabbed some cornish pasty and a seat outside. And if you're not interested in the museums and the attractions then just skip them. Because Land's End is well worth a visit for the views and the walks. The SW Coast path is just behind the village. Views are spectacular. Walk north toward the "First & Last House" and keep walking along the coast. Or choose to go south from the village. We tried out both. But ended up walking longer on the path going south. Lots of wonderful photo ops, amazing views of the coastline. And not that many walkers even along the way. Would recommend at least sneakers (and not Flip-Flops as we've seen). All in all a very nice visit. Pet-friendly as well! Surely a must-do when in Cornwall if you've never been.

Awful, awful company…read more They miss out entire villages on their bus route, but if you phone them up they will happily lie to you and tell you the bus is on its way. If you complain by email they will lie to you and tell you they ran the bus to schedule. They have now admitted it, but they won't refund the taxi costs I incurred. They have sent me a bunch of useless vouchers for shops I never visit though. If I could give them zero stars I would. I realise that things go wrong, but to deny it and lie to your customers is NOT the way to handle it.
