This store has been in the neighborhood for many years. We previously order many plaques and trophies. We decided to call to see if they will engrave our anniversary pens and they say YES. When I came to order, the lady (owner) was NOT showing any excitement to have a new customer, didn't even say Hello or Good Morning, just a plain "MAY I HELP YOU?" They also should put a SIGN at the entrance because the 2 dogs are right at the front door and they look scary and I didn't want to enter!! NO apologies whatsoever... just "MAY I HELP YOU?" I explained my purpose and She send the gentleman that I knew for many years. Old sweet man that took the time to explain the outcome of engraving a pen: 1. The letters will expose the metal 2. The letter will expose part of the metal underneath 3. The letters will NOT expose ANY and will not be seen. IT IS AT YOUR RISK! I appreciated the detailed explanation and decided to order. After 2 days, I was surprised by the outcome!! A disproportioned engraving, letters NO centered and the numbers were so close together that they became attached and not able to read. A fine pen has been ruined! To make it worst, they were two of them, one for my wife, and one for me. Her is a little better but also unfinished letters, also NOT centered. I would expect a better outcome coming from a business that has been doing plaques for years! As you can see, the C & A 35 is horrible. Nothing to do at this time. read more

I have gone to them since my kids were little for trophies and such. Now I went to have a sterling brush set engraved for my grandson. I told them I needed it in 2 - 3 days since I was travelling with the item and the clerk/owner said 'no problem' & had it for me on Thursday (I was leaving Friday). She did not even charge me extra for a rush job. Good, courteous service, fast, and not expensive, especially since they hardly have any competition. The only difficulty is that they are open 9am -1:00pm, but nothing is perfect. read more

Horrible experience, Ana who assisted my mother in law was incredibly rude. Trying to get a urn engraved and cross adhered onto it and from the first contact over the phone she made the process very hard with demands for submitting anything. When in person just blontly and degradingly told her cross was horrible and criticized the engravings. Mother in law offended tried to get explanation for such harsh behavior and she just rushed in saying they wouldn't do anything for her and were closing at noon when listed time of operation is till 5pm. Today was my last time I'll give any business to L&M engraving. I needed to use this place because of time constraints on a bunch of orders . I needed to make simple plates with names, dates and a short message on some .. Nothing crazy.. And it's a convenient place in relation to my shop. Emailing them orders makes it simple as well. Unfortunately their customer service and attitude will keep me from ever coming back.. I'd rather pay double and be treated politely. The older lady, possibly the owner (heavy set one) is exceptionally rude and is detrimental to this business. I questioned her about the price because they charged me 3 different prices for the same little plate and I asked why it was more today. She was practically yelling at me instead of answering my question. On another day, my sister picked up for me and she didn't even come out of the back room. She stayed back there yelled at her in the same disrespectful tone of voice. She also said she was giving me a "flat rate". How is 3 different prices a flat rate? That women needs to be locked away in that back room and never allowed to speak to customers if that business knows what's best. I will drive across town and order from someone else from now on rather than return here because of her. On a positive note, everyone else there is very nice. Good customer service and having people skills is important. Perhaps give that lady a public service and people skills pep talk. read more

I've been here 4 times so far. They do a great job getting things engraved in a timely manner. The only negative I have is that their prices seem to fluctuate depending on who is there. I always pay $10 for the 5" x 6" name plates I drop off. The last time I was there when I went to pay they told me it was $15 each. I order a decent amount of these so the extra $5 per can really add up. When I tried to ask about it, someone started yelling from the back not to change the price back to the usual $10. I actually felt bad for the casher bc he was very sweet. read more

So glad I found this place. Had been unsuccessful getting a watch box engraved at multiple places (including Things Remembered) because it didn't fit in their machines or they were too expensive or had very limited working hours. I came in to L & M where not only did they tell me they could do it in time for Christmas, they also offered advice as to what font style would look best, and we're very nice and accommodating. I have dealt with Sandy, the owner for 15 years. He has always been professional, patient, and fair. Now in all fairness, his staff can be difficult at times and the "house dog" can be disconcerting. I know this place has been around for quite a while but I can't say that the customer service support merits anything worth then just rude. I call into to place an order I was told to go online and submit a request. I call back and apparently the web address is wrong the lady tells me that I need to send it to this another address if I got an auto reply from them then that would mean they have the order. I call back to check and again to verify that they received the order and so I then ask will the order be ready by next week and she replies did you list that on the order - I say yes I did but I wanted to make sure that it was going to be ready and she says to me well it should be if you put the date on it... I guess the word customer service has fallen into the internet world where you don't have to interact with customers. I hope they realize that people don't do business with computers they do business with people. read more

I just left L&M engraving and I am taking the time to write this because I will NEVER step foot into this place again. The first encounter with what might be the owner was nothing but rude. I asked her for some ideas and a possible leadership logos for a plaque I was getting my manager and she abruptly said "we don't do that!" This was after she hid into her office when I walked in and told her I needed a plaque. Then to top it off , a very mean looking white pit bull came out from the back of the store unleashed , unnozzled and stared down at my daughter (who happens to have had 2 previous dogs bite her) and when my daughter expressed her fear, all this lady could tell my daughter was "RELAX RELAX, thats the worst thing you can do!!!" She didn't apologize or even try to calm her in any way. After that, I decided to go somewhere else with my business and when I told her she needed customer service skills, she said she had been in business 26 years ( SURPRISINGLY) and had never had a complaint. As I look at these reviews , I see this is not the first time she has heard this about her lack of professionalism and customer care. Think twice about going to this place for trophies or plaques.. you might be scared out of your wits by the dog and/or the other animal in there ( The lady with the long hair and sour puss face!! ) read more
