Nu Lounge Bar isn't like your typical "speak easy" tiki bar, it's much more of an open bar with big windows and brighter lighting. That's not meant to be a negative so don't read into it wrong, it works for this bar and area. The drinks are fantastic, the service was attentive. Not much of a service as it's buy at the counter however the bartender was one of the friendliest of people around. He was always smiling and had some great suggestions. When you know you are in a small space which has seen the likes of Muhammad Ali and Anthony Bourdain and many other celebrities, you surely feel you are at the correct spot. Buy food as a takeaway and bring it here. You only need to buy drinks, much cheaper than the same restaurants around. Save yourself and do not sit down at any of those tourist traps. It seems exclusively at this point to service food tours, which they seem to do well. We walked to the back by many other tables reserved for other groups. It's somewhat divey, which I think they lean into. The wines were pretty good and curated well for the tour. You're allowed to bring your own food, which is seemingly the thing to do. Would I venture here outside the tour? Probably not. But definitely serves the purpose for the tours.
