I've been coming here in the September-October time frame every year since 2010 and would not dream of staying anywhere else in the Pyrénées. This bed and breakfast is in a classic-rural Pyrénées house next door to a small 12th Century church. The whole village (pop. 100?) clings to the side of a mountain, and L'Arcouli has spectacular mountain views from every window. The woman who runs L'Arcouli, Régine, has kept the place up beautifully (major improvements to the two rooms in 2018), and she's as charming as can be. She speaks French and Spanish fluently and English well enough. And her breakfasts are classic French B&B (she even laid in a Camembert for me, so don't be reluctant to ask - whatever it is!). There are two rooms for rent, each with in-room shower / sink / toilet. The beds are comfortable queen-sized, and makings for tea are provided. Free parking is available close-by, and there is a good restaurant in the village as well. Régine knows the Pyrénées like the back of here hand and she is much concerned that you will see the best sights, hike the best trails, get the best thermal baths (bring your swimming togs !) and eat at the best restaurants the region has to offer. The nearest full-service town with good restaurants and shopping is Luz Saint-Sauveur, about 10 minutes by car from Sers. read more
