My wife and I stayed here 5 nights and never had trouble sleeping and left our valuables there with full confidence. Another great thing about this place is the location. It is located on "restaurant row" which is Saint-John. A creperie called le billig is a 60 second walk and has delicious food. There is also the best coffee shop you will ever go to right next to the B&B. This place is serious about their beans. The Old Quebec City wall is only a 10 minute stroll away with Old Quebec right after it. We stayed in the yellow and green room. Both were very nice. The yellow room is better for a couple and the green room for a couple and a child. The breakfast was always timely and fresh. She caters to your schedule by asking when you want breakfast (between 8 and 9:30 am). Yogurt, granola, and fruit every morning with French press coffee. She switches the main meal every day. We had waffles, crepes, and an egg and cheese bagel. The only downside to the breakfast for me was the lack of meat. I am a carnivore but I was still pleased every day.

Our hosts Louise and Rene were wonderful, they made us feel welcomed and at home. The morning breakfasts were delicious and served in the library. To me this was an excellent start to our day of sight seeing. Also, you cant beat the location and proximity to the old town. I highly recommend this place and if ever in Quebec City again would definitely stay again.

This one stood out as the best of them all. After reading all the positive reviews, we chose Dans les bras de Morphee. If you want a fabulous experience of the quiet countryside, then this is the place. We chose the "honeymoon room" and it was very clean and comfortable. And we totally agree with another reviewer that the breakfast is "out of this world". The place is owned and operated by two very sweet couple Marc and Louise. Marc has told us that he has had training as a chef. That explains why the breakfast was so good. We wish he also served dinner. He has his own bee-hives which he uses to make his special lavender honey and which they gave us a jar of. We didn't get to see most of his other farm animals because they had been taken somewhere else for the winter, but we got to see the quails that were still there. While we were on the island, we were looking for places to eat for dinner and their restaurant recommendations were excellent. We're definitely coming back here for one of our anniversaries.

So you can get a quiet nights sleep but you are minutes away from the action. The area was safe and easy to find. The breakfast each morning was fantastic. Every morning there was fresh juice, yogurt with fresh berries you had the option to add granola, cereal, honey, maple syrup, coconut sugar. Also, there was an assortment of breads with preserve, Jam, butter etc. An hot option was provided after the yogurt. I had crepes one day, and egg sandwich and on my last day blue berry pancakes. I forgot to mention coffee and tea was provided. Now for the room, it was on the second floor and was cute and cozy. The bed and breakfast was clean and neat - micro wave and tea and coffee offered on this floor. The shared bathroom was a decent size and had good lighting. Suggestions were provided on places to visit, if inquired. The place was just welcoming and the other guest were friendly and nice. Caroline is great host/ proprietor. I would stay here again. There are stairs so that should be considered if you have knee trouble. Other than that this place is a fantastic. Lastly, there was a fig sweetener that I gobbled up every morning at breakfast.

Unfortunately, because Quebec - like the rest of Canada - has two seasons (winter and construction!), it took us roughly half an hour to get here when it should have been a 10 minute drive! Then when we finally found it, we drove around and around again, looking for street parking!! I was ready to give up, so hubby went to talk to the proprietor, who offered to allow us use of her garage; better yet, she offered to park it! 5-stars just for this feat!! But I'm so glad we didn't bail out on this place, because it was charming, and the owner was so welcoming. Breakfast was great! A feast!! Pros: - the price was good; - breakfast was great: yougourt and fresh fruit with your choice of cereals, honey, and maple syrup to add to it if you wish; good coffee; juice; breads with jam; half a bagel with an egg cooked in it. - close enough to walk to the Chateau Frontenac; - the mattress was hard but comfortable; - the proprietor went above and beyond to make us comfortable, by parking our car safely in her garage. Cons: - stand-alone claw-foot tub with plastic shower curtain made the tub a bit claustrophobic & uninviting; - 3rd floor bedrooms had gables on them, and the bed was right under it for some reason. I got clobbered by it! - the construction in the neighbourhood was a real downer.

The room we stayed in - La Brunante - was for my money distinctly better than the other options: a spare, Japanese-style room with a vast and snowy king-size bed with a spectacular view of the wintry Saint Lawrence river. The private bathroom has a deep soaking tub that's almost as rewarding. The proprietor, Sylvain, is helpful without hovering, and his breakfast (served from 8-9:30 sharp) is worth waking up for: even in winter, we got four courses of fresh fruit, juices, crisp bacon, an effervescently light quiche. There's a stretch of beach just across the road to ramble on at low tide, and two downstairs fireplaces for warming up afterward. Definitely worth a stay if you're in town.

The location is excellent for Quebec City sightseeing (you…read moredon't really need to be inside the walls to access Vieux Quebec easily), and it is clean and cute enough. It is really more like a small hotel than a typical B&B, which may or may not be what you are looking for. I still don't know anyone's names, since we arrived after hours in the evening (letting ourselves in), and when we arrived at breakfast in the morning, no one cared to introduce themselves. We mentioned who we were, and that Paul (whom I had contacted by email) had said that a vegan breakfast could be prepared for us. I said this in French, explaining as best as I could that we were "vegetalien," and what this means, repeating it on subsequent mornings. Nonetheless, the only food I am really sure was vegan was the fruit. Every day, we were served pre-wrapped packets of real cheese, which made us wonder if the crepes we were told were made without eggs, and with "olive oil," were really vegan. This was stressful because we didn't want to seem ungrateful for the supposedly "vegan" breakfasts, but we also didn't want to eat them if they really weren't. We would much rather have been told that they don't do vegan, but that we'd be welcome to stop by for coffee and fruit, and get a more complete breakfast on our own afterward. Overall, the place is fine, the only real problem being the noise level from the street, which is only solved by running the window air conditioner as white noise; I don't know what might be done when it is too cold to run the air conditioner. We couldn't have slept with the noise level that existed before we turned it on. The free access to a computer near the breakfast room was a nice bonus, as was the free parking.
