They had cold, spa water in the lobby all day. The bed was incredibly comfortable, contrary to the standard overly-soft hammocks that most hotels have. Housekeepers came daily. They provided free bus passes for anyone staying at least 3 nights which was an amazing and helpful perk. Aside from being next to a HUGE Simons (inside one of the nicest, biggest malls I've seen), the location isn't convenient to many of the QC attractions or any good restaurants. However it is walking distance to Université Laval which made it perfect for the conference!

You can't put the a/c below 68, and it barely works. Then I went to ask for some more towels and I told them we needed 4, and they said are you part of the eco friendly initiative. I said no, I didn't sign up. I know plenty of people who work for hotels and they have stated that this saves the hotel money. I just didn't feel like drying myself with a wet towel after I showered. The next day we had went down to the desk to have house keeping clean our room and we were gone for an hour. Then they knocked on our door and said we will be in here in the afternoon. So we decided to leave our room for 3 hours to workout and go swimming. Mind you when we got back she goes do you want you room cleaned... I mean seriously? That's why we have our sign on the door and we told the front desk in the morning. Then we were put out of our room for another hour so she could clean our room, it looks like they were short staffed and this little old lady was cleaning our room and the room next to us at the same time. Talk about lack of communication. Okay so on the positive side, this pool is super deep here!! woot woot, which is really hard to find. The water pressure in the shower is really nice. I don't see that they have any tubs here, they might if you have kiddos. Their T.V. does offer some english channels and some in french. We didn't end up eating at their restaurant fenouiliere because there are limited options. Their workout room is small but it gets the job done. The front desk manager who checked us in was really nice. Some of the regular front desk staff doesn't seem to have the same demeanor. This is a good place to stay if your on a budget and want something nice. Just don't expect your room to be 100% cool and your room clean without inconveniencing you.

They also have bath and body works toiletries. Not a bad brand. It's a little more out of town then I had hoped. And the "shuttles" every day they advertise is just one shuttle in the morning, and one that comes back. So just one shuttle. We wound up driving to old Quebec that night for dinner which was no big deal at least the hotel parking was free. We just would have preferred to have had the shuttle because we'd done so much driving already. The next morning we made use of the giant hot tub. It was lovely. Then we got the included breakfast. It was good with the exception of the scrambled eggs (the only way to describe the texture is ew.) There was a lot of other foods to choose from. Scrambled eggs aside we had a great stay. There was quite a few construction around the hotel and it took us a few times with detour to get to the location. This place was about 20-30 mins drive from old Quebec City and very close to the aquarium. Great location and would come back or even to their chain hotel. Breathtaking spires and stone exterior , flags from multiple countries. As you enter the front doors, the beauty is overwhelming; gold, ornate stone, wood finishes and fragrant flowers. I could feel the history and pride around every corner and step of the staircase. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We were surprised to hear a knock at the door around 8pm every evening , smiling staff offered water service and anything else you may need! Nice touch. Tip- be sure to make reservations for the iconic restaurant's. Unlikely you'll get in without a reservation. Book an early or late reservation if you want a window view.

First, let me declare that I did not stay at the Chateau hotel but I did take a tour of the hotel…read more Instead, I stayed at the Hilton, half a mile up the hill from the Chateau and, after the Chateau tour, I must say that I really enjoyed the view looking down on the Chateau, the old city and the river from my 18th floor hotel room at the Hilton for a fraction of the cost of the Chateau. The Chateau is an architectural gem. It is well worth your time to walk around the perimeter of this gorgeous building -- you won't be bored. The tour guide explained that the Chateau is a 5 Star hotel and everything must be perfect. Once inside, I saw chandeliers and window ledges caked with white dust. The "grand ballroom" reminded me of my high school all purpose room. We were warned not to touch anything because the grand ballroom was being prepared for an Easter Brunch. Two of the tablecloths covering the round guest tables had strange, yellow spots on them. If I return to Quebec in the future, I will stay at the Hilton which has a fabulous buffet breakfast that is reasonably priced and an equally fabulous view looking down on the Chateau and the old city.

Our double queen room with kitchenette was spacious, immaculately clean, quiet, and exceptionally comfortable. After long days exploring the city, we particularly appreciated the deep soaking tub, the rainfall shower, and what may have been some of the best water pressure we've experienced in a hotel anywhere. Small details matter, and this hotel gets them right. The location is fantastic--perfectly situated within Old Québec and within easy walking distance of the city's historic sites, restaurants, shops, and attractions. Despite being in the heart of everything, the hotel was remarkably peaceful and quiet. One of our favorite amenities was the guest lounge and its outstanding coffee machine, which quickly became part of our daily routine. We also opted for the breakfast package, and it was a delight. Each morning we awoke to a basket of fresh breakfast goodies hanging on our door: fresh pastries, juice, yogurt, and other treats. We never tired of it. As a fun local note, visitors should know that the beloved pain au chocolat is called a "chocolatine" here, just as it is in the south of France! What truly sets this hotel apart, however, is its people. M. Pierrôt deserves special recognition. He was warm, helpful, knowledgeable, and always greeted us with a genuine smile. In truth, every member of the staff we encountered embodied the hotel's reputation for friendly, personalized service. We also appreciated staying in a property with such a rich history. Built on land once known as the "Garden of the Poor," where medicinal plants were cultivated by the Augustines of the Hôtel-Dieu de Québec, the site has witnessed centuries of Québec City's evolution. It is easy to understand why L'Hôtel du Vieux-Québec has earned such an outstanding reputation among travelers. Fresh flaky croissant's, fresh fruit, yogurts, variety of milk and variations, meats and best of all made to order omelettes and eggs from the kitchen. Shops, dining, entertainment and historic places are all around you and very easily walkable. I'd stay here again when visiting. This particular Comfort Inn & Suites was right up there with the better BW. It was clean, quiet & comfortable. The staff were very friendly & helpful. We had a car so it was very convenient to old town Quebec. The breakfast was average but plentiful, even though the hotel was full of guest, that some had problem finding seating. The Beds were pillow top & very comfortable as I sleep well. Parking was plentiful & all around the property. If I had know the Comfort Inns were this nice, we might have booked more. Management should be proud of how well the staff performed. Well done!
