Before starting therapy my husband and I were terrified to leave our babies with strangers and have no way to supervise whether they were ok or not. They've created such an environment we knew when we walked in the doors for assessments that our babies were in good hands. We were greeted with a warm welcome and buzzed into the back to take a tour of the facility while assessments were being done. There are devices in place to prevent children from eloping if they're prone to that. They are in a classroom setting however they still have a therapist assigned specifically for your child. Compared to other ABA clinics, BIG is the GOLD STANDARD of the Baton Rouge, Hammond, and the New Orleans area hands down. I love that they require a certain level of education to work there as well as requiring continued education. I won't go into detail, but It's very obvious that the children's well-being is top priority and this company isn't in it just for the money. Cassie, one of the owners seems to have a very close knit relationship with all the kids involved in her clinic. She has treated me and my family nothing short of like her own family. There is a BCBA present at all times instead of like some companies that just have a BCBA supervise periodically. Kelsey and Kourtney are AMAZING BCBAs and we started seeing huge improvements with both kids within the first week. My children are non-verbal and had no way to communicate upon starting. They VERY QUICKLY implemented PECS and gave my babies a way to talk to me. We've never had any issues with inconsistent staffing or had any days where there was not a therapist available to work with them unlike other companies who constantly have that issue. When we pull up to the building in the morning the kids both light up and begin smiling and laughing and I can just tell that they truly enjoy being there. I never wonder if they are being mistreated while they are there. Any time there is the least of an incident, they call and let you know what happened and send home a note with their daily report. Never have came home with any unexplained bumps or scrapes. They offer regular parent trainings which helps tremendously with implementing at home. They are very transparent when it comes to what their goals are with the kids and how they plan to get there. They educate you at meetings on the what/whys of everything they're doing. We live over an hour from Baton Rouge and stopped services to go with a company closer to home. That ended up a total nightmare. After extensive research on every single ABA company we could find in Louisiana, we ultimately decided the kids progressing in leaps and bounds was worth making the drive and are placing our kids back at BIG. We have to move closer to New Orleans within a year and have made the decision to even make that drive, that's how good they are. Also, BIG isn't JUST ABA therapy, they're an accredited school and there is no other clinic like them anywhere near the area, so there's no worry of rushing them into a traditional school system before they're ready. I can honestly say that I do not have one complaint about BIG or any of BIG's employees.

I love the idea that they have locked doors to go in and out for the "runners" that attend classes and therapy here! As a mom with a child with exceptionalities, safety is paramount! All the employees are easily identified so you know who is staff and a visitor in the building! We are excited that our family member is attending a social skills classes that will help with everyday conversations and to also prepare for job interviews. I really like how professional they handled our application to the class: the professional phone call, the email with the application to see if we qualify for the class, the meeting with the behavior therapist to see if our family memeber is best suited for the class. Our family member was okay to take the class because they felt welcomed in the meeting before the class. The sitting area is comfortable with a tv that shows an informational video about their successful stories. I also did not know they have parent classes, educational tutors and classes for pre-k readiness too! The main goal is behavioral therapy for children with autism to be social, to speak, and to overcome their sensory issues All to be socially accepted in the "real world." BIG gives children that chance to learn to talk and make friends. I'm very excited that my child will be apart of the BIG family!

Thankfully Dr. Davis is a professional who respects bodily autonomy. I am terrified of needles, and the amazing nurses and care team at Woman's made my experience one of the smoothest I've ever had. The technicians were kind, explained everything to me, and made sure I felt cared for. I am almost a week post-op and even though I am generally very sensitive and my health is poor, I am recovering unusually fast and have very little pain. I can only think to attribute this to the expertise of the surgeon. When I do have pain, I don't feel like I need to ration my medication, because they gave me all that I needed and didn't skimp. My only issue was that I need valium or xanax for anxiety and I was told I couldn't take it before the procedure due to consent forms. I learned that other patients were allowed to take theirs and it just depends on who the doctor and hospital staff are that I speak to before my surgery. Anxiety medicine doesn't nullify contracts or affect the outcome of pregnancy tests, so there is no reason I had to wait all morning without it until right before my procedure. Other than this issue, I had a very positive experience overall.

She has already helped me find the root cause of many of the problems I have been experiencing. She ordered several lab test that my PCP and others providers have never thought to order. Before seeing her, I was eating a strict organic vegetarian diet but losing very little weight. After seeing Dr. Buchert, she has diagnosed me with insulin resistance and Hashimoto's disease, hormonal imbalances, and several vitamin and nutrient deficiencies. She has formulated a plan to address all my issues which includes medication, supplements, and a different nutrition plan. I was feeling so hopeless about my weight and overall health. I became a functional wellness patient in May. My successes with this program are small and may be hard to detect from the outside. But I live in this body and I can tell you I feel awesome! I was sent by several strong referrals but never made it past the receptionist. The first thing catching my eye was a sign at the sign-in window warning everyone of EBOLA. Wasn't Fox News scaring people with that just last year. I think 2 or 3 U.S. citizens even contacted it? Why not warnings about obesity and substance abuse.....or mouth cancer from the 35 flavors of Skoa sitting on a store shelf just down the street? I wasn't there for pain but 1 of the forms said (in BOLD letters) "We don't treat people with chronic pain". Isn't that why people go to a doctor? Are there that many pill heads that doctors won't treat their patients anymore? After watching General Hospital in the waiting for 15 minutes, I decided to change the channel. There wasn't anyone in the room so I didn't see no harm. In the middle of changing it a young receptionist sarcastically said, "excuse me MISS but please don't touch the TV". I turned to laugh but there wasn't a smile on her face. She was genuinely angry. My shoulder length hair probably threw her but geez. I started getting really uncomfortable because obviously I had rubbed her wrong. After another 10 minutes finally left. I'm still looking for a good doctor (and a staff) that are compassionate with their patients.

Both times I've come, she greets me with, "Have you been here before. License and insurance!" But the next person that comes, she says, "Hi. Can I help you?" I was told by the nurse over the weekend to come back Monday for labs and tell the front this when I came, which I was explaining. She says, "I don't care what they want. License!" Why put these kinds of people as the face of your business? Absolutely nauseating to see her pick and choose who to be kind to.

During my visits, he repeatedly complained about insurance only covering a 21 day supply of certain medications and how that creates more work for his office. Something that he could not control is that the pharmacies could not fill the prescription he prescribed, however, when I expressed the issue with his nurse, she was extremely rude and did not seem interested to what I was trying to explain.
