It had been raining most of the day the whole week and people were ready to get out. By the time we arrived, which was about 7:20 the place was almost full. They do take reservations. They spoke good English which was helpful. Hooray for the imaginative menu ! My husband had mussels in a crepe which was awesome ( sorry for the un- imaginative description ) I had a crepe with asparagus, DELICIOUS bacon and cheese- good combination and terrific meal. We will go back for many reasons. I noticed there were Leisure European diners and people ready to eat and leave. The establishment accommodated your timing of service.

We had two of the Pannekuechen, Hollandaise crepes, one with excellent chorizo and the other with mushrooms and a great melty cheese. They were both crisp and tender in the most satisfying way. We also tried the proffertjes which came highly recommended and for good reason. They were soft and almost custard-like in the middle and also delicately crisp like the crepes. Take a little trip off the beaten path and give Les Tulipes a try, you won't be disappointed.

The restaurant has a cozy, rustic feel with exposed limestone walls that give it plenty of local character. We were fortunate to get a table by the front window, which made for a pleasant lunch while watching people pass by. A special mention goes to Flom, who looked after us from the moment we arrived. He was welcoming, attentive without hovering, and happy to answer our questions about the menu. It's the kind of service that makes you feel comfortable right away. A helpful tip: if you're considering one of the set menus, keep in mind that they're priced per person and aren't meant for sharing. Since we wanted to split our food, we ordered individual galettes and a dessert crêpe instead. We tried the Bil galette with ham, egg, and Emmental cheese, as well as the Biloude, which added mushrooms. Both had nicely crisp buckwheat edges with generous fillings and perfectly cooked eggs. For dessert, we shared the Lolotte crêpe with banana and melted chocolate, which was rich, indulgent, and perfect for sharing. The prices are fair, the portions are satisfying, and the atmosphere is relaxed. If you're wandering around Bordeaux's old town and want a casual lunch that's both traditional and delicious, this is an easy recommendation. I'd happily come back to try more of the menu.

The crepes were made of buckwheat. Everyone liked their orders. I just wished that there was more sauce, like bechamel, on the crepe. The price was very reasonable. For a party of 4 and with two orders of tea, our final bill was €63. Overall, we had a very good experience here.
