There are plenty of places to eat in Bordeaux, but if you're craving authentic French galettes and crêpes, Nom d'une Crêpe is worth a stop. The restaurant has a cozy, rustic feel with exposed limestone walls that give it plenty of local character. We were fortunate to get a table by the front window, which made for a pleasant lunch while watching people pass by. A special mention goes to Flom, who looked after us from the moment we arrived. He was welcoming, attentive without hovering, and happy to answer our questions about the menu. It's the kind of service that makes you feel comfortable right away. A helpful tip: if you're considering one of the set menus, keep in mind that they're priced per person and aren't meant for sharing. Since we wanted to split our food, we ordered individual galettes and a dessert crêpe instead. We tried the Bil galette with ham, egg, and Emmental cheese, as well as the Biloude, which added mushrooms. Both had nicely crisp buckwheat edges with generous fillings and perfectly cooked eggs. For dessert, we shared the Lolotte crêpe with banana and melted chocolate, which was rich, indulgent, and perfect for sharing. The prices are fair, the portions are satisfying, and the atmosphere is relaxed. If you're wandering around Bordeaux's old town and want a casual lunch that's both traditional and delicious, this is an easy recommendation. I'd happily come back to try more of the menu. read more

The crepes were made of buckwheat. Everyone liked their orders. I just wished that there was more sauce, like bechamel, on the crepe. The price was very reasonable. There are a few things I want to eat in France. A nice crepe is definitely one of them. Though at this place, the selection is so wide, it's hard to just pick one. They do help you out by offering a combo. For a few Euro more, you can add a sweet crepe to follow your savory one, making it a rather good deal as a combo for around €12-16. I totally love the crepes here. It's so thin, slightly crispy, simply way better than most I've tried back home. read more

Been here on two occasions and I only come for the sweet crêpes because I'm not a big fan of savory. That being said the first time I came here, I ordered the Jenny and that one was a 3/10 in my book and the second time I came here I got the Melodie and that one was one of the best crêpes I've had in my life. We ignored a big warning sign - laminated menus. However, we were hungry and it was late. We were greeted and served by an uninterested server who it seemed took great effort to walk over and ask our drink order. I chalk some of that up to a language barrier. At the same time, the appearance of effort of any sort was absent. Eventually, my wife and I were permitted to order two savory crepes. We also ordered a salad to share. The crepes were simple assembly-line crepes. Nothing special, but serviceable. About half way through my wife's crepes she served some of the salad on her plate. The serving of the salad revealed a dead fly trapped in a dressing cocoon. It ruined our meal. We stopped eating and asked for the attention of the server. I get it, things like this happen. When I pointed it out to the server, she said nothing, grabbed the bowl, walked away and showed it to the manager. She returned with two messages: 1) we won't be charged for the salad; and 2) would we like desert? We said no and were told to pay at the bar. At the bar we were met by the manager. He said nothing until I left my phone out with the picture of the dead fly. He then said, the salad is free. I told him it ruined the remainder of the meal. He said it is not their fault. Again, I understand things like this will happen. However, when they do, you don't charge the customer for a meal that was ruined by a dead insect. As I write this I remain disgusted. Nice place if you're looking for a pancake dinner. The "galette" is a savoury pancake and a wide variety is offered. You can order one with mushrooms and cheese or ham and egg or salmon, etc. Dessert consists of "crepe" - a sweet pancake. Plenty of choice for this type as well. Apart from pancakes you can eat salads... This restaurant is located in a street with lots of other dinner facilities - just in case you decide to go somewhere else instead ;) read more

If I could, it would be a 3.5. Pretty good savory crepes (pancakes). The service was slow, and they will not do additions, only deletions from their set menu options. Otherwise - decent ambiance, but no outside seating. Not sure if these pancakes are buckwheat (gluten free). I did not eat a sweet crepe, but they looked pretty good from afar. read more

For under 13.50 euros, they let us select a dinner crêpe (galette) and dessert (crêpe, ice cream or something else). The individual items could cost above 20 euros when ordered separately, so we are saving money. The food itself is delicious, and well-portioned. The service was quick and courteous. To drink, we had tap water. Make sure you specify that you want tap water because in my experience in France, not specifying implies that you want bottled water, which is pricey.
