Cute hotel in a great location, but I wasn't impressed with the service. Like Lisette back in 2014, I too was scolded for arriving too early. I knew my room wasn't going to be ready, but my flight arrived in Paris early in the morning. Instead of being warmly welcomed, the man at the front desk just pointed to the clock and mumbled that it wasn't 2 o'clock yet. Never once did I demand a room early; I just wanted to stow my luggage so I could explore Paris. This man made me feel like I was inconveniencing his day by having to interact with him. I kid you not, in my 9 days in Paris, this was the only rude person I encountered. This did not leave a good first impression.
The rooms are very small, but cutely decorated. The bed and shower were amazing! I got such a great sleep each night, and the shower was so relaxing. However, the soundproofing is minimal, so I was able to hear the people in the next room when they were being loud (which fortunately wasn't late at night).
The location is excellent. I loved that there were practically no tourists to be found and that you really get a taste of Parisian life in this neighborhood. The heart of Montparnasse was a 15 minute walk away, and you're close to all the sights of Paris via metro.
I did not partake in the breakfast, but there are plenty of bakeries and cafes where you can get breakfast for a fraction of the price that the hotel was charging. I highly recommend the little takeway across the street from the Pernety metro; the croissants were shockingly some of the best we had in Paris. read more
