You can also book the minibuses and coaches for private hire. I've done so for a stag night a couple of years back. They have decent prices and if you can fill a coach, split the cost between you it works out fairly inexpensive. The staff are friendly, take your details then ring you back the same day. They ask for a deposit - 50% I think but that's expected everywhere. The coaches aren't really luxury and some need a bit of a revamp but they get you from a to b no problem!

Behind what is now the station, the original station used to be a shed by the waterside in which passengers would alight the train and walk across the road to the connecting boat on the river. The line is run by First TransPennine Express and has 3 stations. There are regular routes to Hull, York, Leeds, and Manchester with the new fast trains to London. You can buy your tickets at the station and there are waiting room and a small warm café.
