It was tucked in the corner, construction everywhere, we asked around n no one knew about it! and it really took effort to find this bar. Glad I did! There was a piano singer the night we went. In this elegant hotel, after navigating valeted sports cars, chauffeur driven Maybachs, and the nicest classic Citroen performance sedan I've seen, you enter a lobby cocktail lounge that is the Canlis of cocktail lounges! From the valet and door staff to the hostess, maitre d and elegant servers the service could not have been much finer. Including coat check from the table and lounge settee with chairs. The bar appears to be full of whatever you would like but a signature cocktail menu that reads like a beautiful coffee table book is given to everyone. The drinks with names like Corn, Apple, etc are given to elaborate cocktails that are crafted with multiple layers of ingredients. Seems weird but everyone loved theirs and we all shared sips. I highly recommend that here if you are familiar with your companions. Call your banker first as $30 per drink is average! But the girl I raised bought it so whatever? Wish I photographed that menu!! Service is bright with ample and thoughtful olive and nuts assortments and water backs for all without asking. For a splurge I could not urge enough of you to try!! Seeing this hotel property alone is worth it right down to the gilded bathrooms excellently attended. We did not try the food as they were just about to convert to first dinner service and we had Xmas Eve dinner for the family booked at a different Michelin star restaurant later. I'll bet the food is the shizzle though!!!

It was good, but I'd say it wasn't crazy strong. My wife got the Miami Vice Negroni and we both thought it was meh. Being as you're in Montmartre, there are plenty of bars to visit. I'd definitely make Dirty Dick a spot to visit if you're doing a crawl.

I ordered the painkiller my first time around and it was perfection! The atmosphere of tiki music, Caribbean-inspired artwork and leis and tiki shields adorning the walls transported me to a beach in the Bahamas for a few minutes. We knew we had to come back our last night and did so! I ordered the Miami Vice Negroni and it was a complex drink. I still can't determine if I liked it or didn't. I got different sweet and bitter notes each sip. My husband got the extra grog strength drink and it was a hit! Do yourself a favor and come here! You won't regret the slight deviation from wine and champagne and enjoy the reprieve!

The most laughable evening out during our recent honeymoon visit to Paris. A quick search revealed…read morea potentially good show of an American female R & B singer; best of mediocre choices on a Wednesday evening. In fact, she and her band were great for the one set my wife and I stayed around for. Going in I knew there'd be a hefty cover charge of 27€, or about $38. Okay fine--I'm in Paris so what the heck. We went in to discover the room was split in two with drinkers not watching the show occupying about three-quarters of the space. After indicating we wanted to watch the show we we ushered to some surprisingly good seats near the front, even though the stage was empty as the first set was over. We were quickly given menus where I discovered ALL drinks cost 27€. Even the soft drinks! But they gave us a 'break' by discounting the second drink by 50% to ONLY 13.50€. Such a deal! Okay, again I thought, it's Paris. Our wait to order drinks began. 15 minutes later the band returned and played three numbers very well. No server in sight. The featured singer came out and belted out more tunes well. No sign of the server. Suddenly drinks were placed on our table, and then unceremoniously yanked away. Oops, wrong table. Still no approach by the server, though she was scurrying around elsewhere in the room. After 45 minutes or so the set ended. Pretty good, but our mouths were dry and patience used up. We got up and walked out. Not a peep from anyone. C'est la vie! Not worth finding, this place. Look elsewhere.

We got inexpensive seats, which wound up being in a gorgeous loge on one side of the venue. They offered a stellar vantage point of all but a sliver of one side of the stage, but I could tell the people in the two neighboring loges that were closer to the stage were missing a LOT of the show. It's a little confusing to find your seats and the ushers who unlock the loge for you work exclusively for tips, which they tell you as they're seating you. Unfortunately, I was in the lavatory when my husband was seated and had all our cash on me and he felt really bad about not having any Euros to give to her. Our local theatres also use volunteers for ushers but tipping them is not at all customary (I'm pretty sure it's never done), so this was a learning experience for us. Pricing for drinks and treats in the lobby is very fair -- I think it was 5 euros for a glass of wine. It would be nice if they had more tables out there for guests enjoying libations at intermission.
