Spaghetti bolognese, Lasagne, and Pizza Margharetta
    Heyzee S.

My spaghetti came out within minutes in this jam packed restaurant on New Years Day in Regensburg in the heart of Bavaria while my wife and teen age daughter came on a four day visit during New Years in which I finally took my first four day pass from Grafenwoehr to meet up with them in München (Munich). What a great final cap and awesome beginning of the year to spend it with family that visited all this way from El Paso. L'Osteria, we hope to be back, maybe with more family God willing.

Service sehr unfreundlich. Fließbandfeeling. Pizzen waren entweder zu dunkel oder noch nicht durch.

Easy to get a table at lunch time even though it seemed pretty packed and like you needed reservations.

She also informed me of the specials and they sounded more amazing than anything on the menu. I ordered the minestrone soup. It came with a basket of small round freshly baked bread. It had lots of fresh veggies and the broth was simple in flavor. For the main course I has the Tonnarelli Scarface. It is black pasta with mussels. I had wanted to try black pasta for a while (it's made with octopus ink! So interesting). It was heavenly. I got 25 perfectly cooked mussels (I counted them in the end just for the review) with fresh al dente pasta cooked in delicious sauce that contained garlic and cherry tomatoes. It left me dancing and singing while walking home. I was very happy with my first black pasta experience. There are only two cons I can think of: I waited 15 mins for the soup and 15 more minutes for the pasta. Even though I was the only customer, it still took a whole while. The second thing was the little lamps that were the centerpiece on each table. They were super dusty! What's up with that? Other notes. There was a restroom but I didn't use it, so no comment. There were lots of steps and if there was a rail for strollers/wheelchair I did not see it. I'll be back here to try the pizza soon.

They arrived in a timely manner. The cheese sticks were amazing and cooked thoroughly. They came with Salsa. This is odd because in the States they serve them with marinara sauce. They also came with a side of salad, and that's just awesome. Yum! We sat in front of the pizza making bench that had a masonry oven. Before we finished our sticks the pizza arrived. Ordering extra cheese was a mistake because the Pie was now overflowing with cheese! It's not a bad thing, but it's a bit heavy for dinner. The pizza was nothing special but good nonetheless. Other notes: There are only a few steps, we had to carry the baby stroller. There was a restroom but we didn't use it. The seating area is not close to the bar. The menu has Mexican themed entrees like fajitas, quesadillas, burritos, etc.
