Amazing drinks and service! Super super cute interior! Loved the funky seats all throughout. Fun speakeasy!

    Swing seating and cool lighting.

SUPER cool place and amazing mixed drinks. There was a line out the door but it moved fast. When two people come out, two people go in: makes sense. It was fun to watch people walk by when we were in line because most people couldn't understand why we were all waiting to get into a grocery store; little did they know that there was a super cool speakeasy hidden behind the walls. Vibe was good and music was a great mix too. Bar tenders were super cool and chill. My favorite drink was the Tete du Blend and the Kabyleformia. They both had very layered flavors and were so smooth. My boyfriend had the Caravan Palace drink and really enjoyed it but liked the Reprenez un peu de baklava more. Decor was cool and there were tons of cool little nooks and crannies to sit. Honestly, perfect for 2-4 people, but larger groups will have a problem finding seating together.

Great time! Wife said she was hungry so I took her the the store front and she was upset until I told her she needed to find a secret entrance and she loved it! Jeremy was our server he took care of us at the bar. Very nice environment and there was a line of people outside waiting to come in. Great spot for locals and visitors. Very small which spot but still worth it. Thanks Jeremy!!

From the same folks that run lavomatic, comes l'epicier And much like that renowned bar, this one has a really intricate entrance - but it's even more so than the laundromat. Walking into the "bodega" you'll not only need to find the physical entrance to the bar, but figure out how it works - I won't spoil the surprise, but will say it was harder than first expected The bar itself is Arabic themed, with both an downstairs and upstairs. We found ourselves on a couch with a stop sign table (the sign was in English and Arabic). This spot, much like it's sister around the corner has swing seats and a very the same interesting water nuts that come with a drink. Aside from the theme, where it departs most from it's precessor is its size. It's considerably larger, and that's not a bad thing; the intimate feeling is preserved throughout the whole place. This place is sure to do well, and if you're reading this a year or so from now, make sure to come early (if it's even half as popular as lavomatic it'll be packed).

There's a fine line between doing something clever and unique and just being dumb; Gocce…read more(professor) crossed that line, in a modified Japanese sedan adorned with aircraft grade metal spoiler, while drifting, with the driver hanging halfway outside the car while subsequently hitting a curb, ejecting the occupants and injuring/maiming several bystanders. [Our server was the driver of this car. Turns out that car was her parents and she's in deep shit - as such her service reflected her mood perfectly.] Myself and 15 others made reservations for Gocce to celebrate a birthday. Upon entering we were seated in the deepest recesses of the back of the bar. The table for 15 made no sense, imagine a U-Shaped booth with 5 (yes 5) round brasserie tables crammed together and some additional chairs wedged directly against them. As people arrived we realized we're not going to get 15 people in here with these five tables. Also despite repeated (3 times) requests, the staff were unwilling to remove even one of the tables to provide us room to move and sit comfortably. From there things got worse. In our cave, we had no real light, instead we had candles on each of our five tables, while this did provide us the necessary "mood" lighting, we determined quickly that it wasn't a mood we wanted exposing, oh and it was Ducking hot! We were told at the outset when we ordered two bottles of beer that they had no additional beers available. During my inspection of the bookshelves while in search of a bathroom, I come back to see the same server giving fresh beers to other customers, when asked what gives, I was ignored. The toilet, that damned toilet - WHERE ARE YOU!?!?! Yes, the toilet is hidden behind a bookshelf that is not marked or labelled. My advice if you have to go urgently, walk outside and pee in front of the restaurant, that will be easier than locating the facilities. After suffering through this scene for nearly 40 minutes, I spoke with the birthday girl and we agreed to find another place. (Located just next door is an establishment called Chez Vous it's number 15 on the same street and was wonderful). Finally, adding insult to injury, we were given the bill. Wine was 11 euros per glass. Those elusive beers? Yes, 11 euros a bottle. And should you want a cocktail, fork over 13 euros.

What a great find!…read more This bar doesn't look like much from the outisde but once you walk in, its super cool and full of character. The bar staff was extremely friendly and educated us on the history of the bar. Both bartenders spoke english and were from United States. It was explained to us that Lulu White was a brothel madam, that was concidered to have more power than the mayor of New Orleans during the late 1800s. Her brothel contained a "Blue Book" that allowed patrons to chose their companion via photos. The Lulu White bar, took this concept and allows you to chose your drink according to the individuals photographed in the "Blue book". We were told the individuals listed in the book change about every 6 months but the Lulu White drinks remains constant. I tried the Lulu White: Altos Anejo Tequila, Plymouth Gin, Genepi, Absentroux, and Cardamon noir. It came in a elegant beautiful glass and It tasted like a dry martini with a licorice flavor from the absinthe. This was definitley a drink you sip on to enjoy. The décor of the bar, resembled historical New Orleans with its dim lighting and elegant décor and half moon booth seating. This was a great surprise, and I recomment anyone to stop by and check it out!

Still a strong mix of anglophones but locals seem to balance out the crowd. Fairly priced cocktails. I had the Beatrix which was a little too bitter for my taste, so switched out to the Pale Ale which was tasty. The live music was fantastic! Not sure if the ensemble is there every weekend, but they made a great trio. I'd visit when/if in Pigalle again.
