There are not enough stars for Ace of Spades, seriously there aren't. If I owned a Bar I would want…read moreit to be like this place. A few years ago when myself and my good lady wife were on Holiday on Fuerte we used to drink in Tattooz n Booze, and we loved the place, but when we visited in 09 we found to our dismay that it had closed down only a few months before we arrived (The owner Sasha had relocated to Gran Canaria). A big hole was to be found on that trip,we missed our nightly dose of Metal,Bourbon and Jaeger.Sad times indeed. Just before we visited last year we found out that Sasha was back and that he had opened a new Bar not far from the old one Called Ace Of Spades in honour of the wartiest bass playing lead singer in the world. We were happy, very, very happy : ) On our first night we popped along after having a bite to eat,it is only a small place but with plenty of seating outside, who wants to sit inside anyway? it's 30 degrees outside!! We were served our Jim Beam and coke by the co-owner Raphael (Rafa) possibly the nicest French man I have ever met,he served us our drinks and explained that Sasha only worked in the Bar every now and again, not to worry. Rafa was very appologetic that his lap top wasn't working, and that he only had his CD's to choose from and was there anything I would like playing? I said "Have you got any Kreator?",he said yes,and before I had even sat down outside Hordes of Chaos was blasting out of the bar,Oh yes, this was going to be a good night! Back in the Tattooz days Sasha always used to write a Heavy Matal related question on a blackboard, and if you got it right you were given a shot of Jaegermeister. The tradition continues in Ace of Spades, and Rafa is such a nice bloke, that one night upon getting the question right he not only gave myself and my wife a shot, but also the friends we were drinking with got one too,top man!! We drank there every night of the holiday,a perfect end to what is always a perfect day on Fuerteventura. I can think of hundreds of reason to visit the Island, but top of the list is Rafa and his little Heavy Metal Bar......God,I miss it!!

Located in the tourist town of Costa Teguise, the restaurant is hidden in plain sight. While you may not see it right away, as it is set behind the street in an alley, do seek it out. For your convenience, there is a huge and busy free parking lot a block away. Décor is casual, the ambiance is relaxed, service is attentive and friendly. Both in door and outdoor seating is available. The dedication to local ingredients is brought to your attention in the menu item descriptions, without pretention. Though the restaurant is Cuban in name and decoration, it isn't in its menu. There are big plates and small plates, we decided to order a few things to share in the style of tapas. Of course it is always in tradition to start with papas arrugadas in the archipelago, the wrinkly Canarian potatoes and mojo sauce. Utterly tender and clean tasting, the potatoes were cooked perfectly - but what I learned with first bite is that the chef is a master of sauces. Next up Garlic prawns with chili of the country, bubbling furiously in juices. So much fresh garlic and a spattering of herbs coated the succulent shrimp, each bite enhanced with a cut of the chili. Next was the baked island smoked goat cheese in clay casserole with fig marmalade, a combination of immaculate flavors. The sweet and savory, creamy and fibrous, created an absolutely illustrious item. Last but not least, the grilled octopus. So many restaurants get this meat wrong, but this was prepared without fault, beautifully presented. The tentacles were tender exuding a smoky grilled essence, paired impeccably with the thick sauces made of pepper and sweet potato. Not normally a fan of octopus, but if it all tasted this wonderful it would be a favorite of mine. A sweet liquor was complimentar after our meal. Good to know: +Many restaurants are closed in Lanzarote on Sundays, but Habana is open until 6PM this day
