Pretty easy 5-star review. I'm halfway through my bag of chocolates (they have boxes too of course) and it's fantastic. Trying to slow down on how fast I'm eating them. Each piece is perfectly distinct and crafted. Even the cookies and cream which seems like an ordinary piece has a class and taste to it. Wife got some lavender chocolates which I've never liked until now. It might be pricey? I don't know but it tastes like it's worth it. It's an indulgence and I think they're fairly priced. Staff was perfectly friendly. My only recommendation is to maybe play some French cafe music in there to cheer up the vibe a bit. This is a small local place (they do have a second location in Aiken SC). This is a chocolatier. The prices aren't low, but the flavor is a different level than you get from generic chocolate. Their truffles and other options were aesthetically pleasing as well. The promised flavors, notably including a mint truffle and one with earl grey tea, hit the mark. They also had some packaged options, including those delightful little crunchy things that sometimes come with restaurant desserts but which I don't think I've ever bought for myself before. I received pleasant but not pushy service and had plenty of opportunity to peruse the small but packed shelves. I think I got an Amex small business reward for shopping here, but I was happy to do it regardless and glad to find that Augusta can support a real chocolate place. read more

Love this chocolate shop. I had no idea they've been around for over 20 years. My favorite item is the gold chocolate chip cookie. It has a nice crisp on the outside edge and a chewy center. You can get chocolate in prefilled boxes or around the holidays they have containers made from chocolate that you can fill with more chocolate or if you are like me you can get a baggy and fill it was as many or few pieces of chocolate of your choice. I like to pick out maybe about 10 pieces to treat myself to one a day and mark down which ones i like..they also make chocolate bombs and croissants which I have not tried. read more

I was so excited when I found this chocolate place in Evans. (Or is it Martinez?) regardless, what a wonderful surprise. This is a smaller size store with an absolute abundance of chocolate. They have the most beautiful designed chocolates. The last time I went was for Easter, and you would not even believe the chocolate sculptures essentially made by the people here. Giant eggs, Easter, bunnies, and crosses. I also picked up some beautiful Masters themed chocolates. In addition to essentially edible artwork, you can also purchase individual chocolates. There are so many to choose from! I chose a small pack of six all hazelnut flavored, and I recommend all of them! Just when you think I would finish, I'm not. There's even more. You can buy baking chocolates for chocolate chip cookies, and even come on a Saturday for chocolate croissants, and other baked items. I will definitely be back! I LOVE this wonderful shop. I came here after wanting to try the Tree House Macaroons only to find out they were closed but I remember wanting to give this a try so I finally took the plunge. Hot chocolate bombs are Devine, rich dark chocolate complemented by the softest sweetest little marshmallows. This is probably not a good fit for kids or people that like things overly sweet, although you could add additional sweetener. This place is awesome, it smells so good! I really liked the customer service. The woman at the front desk was inviting, helpful, and she played along with my humorously long order nicely, which I had screen-shot on my phone to make sure I ordered correctly for my wife. She was a good sport and took good care of me. When other customers came more kind and cheery women bust out of the back ready to go, I was worried I was going to hold everyone up, Nope! They got it covered here! I found out from one of them that name actually means chocolate boxes, or something akin to it, and guess what!? They sell these really awesome chocolate boxes! This place is tucked away in the back of side of the complex but it's definitely worth a visit, especially for their luxurious chocolates. I really enjoy the ones that have a hint of alcohol in them like the lemon one. I also loved the earl grey. The lady was so nice at the counter and packed my chocolates in a box with a bow on top! Got a lot of choices of flavored chocolate pieces, i see it is sold by the box. I bought 6 pc $10- 12pc $20 you choose the flavors you want after deciding. I didn't ask how much 1 or 2 would be, tastes nice and is separated with a divider and was asked about which color ribbon to tie it in. Wow, this place blew me away. These folks are offering up better than Godiva quality chocolate at half the price. Their chocolate is not cheap but well worth every penny. Staff was friendly and made some great recommendations. They offer a good selection to choose from so everyone is sure to find something they want. They are closed Sunday and Monday and close at 5pm on Saturdays so you may need to plan ahead. Please note that they offer a chocolate cooking class once a quarter and you need to sign up in advance. The glass case seemed to have every chocolate you could think of. Oh, and this chocolate is authentic. Forget about anything you tried in a branded wrapper. The chocolate is handcrafted daily by the owner who is also a chocolatier. I had the amaretto almond and peanut butter. The chocolate is weighed, so you can fill a small or large bag. The prices range depending on how much chocolate you choose. They have chocolate gifts for special occasions, so I'm sure this is a popular place on Valentine's Day, Anniversaries and Birthdays. I ate my chocolate later in the days and it was so good. I was really upset that I didn't get more. I made the mistake of being nice and offering someone a taste and that took a few pieces. La Bonbonniere is located off Fury's Ferry Road. It is on the lower level of another shopping plaza, which made it hard to find. However, the staff told me that they chose the location purposely. It's important for them to be in a shaded area because the chocolate will melt in direct sunlight. Makes sense. This place is an awesome find in Augusta, GA. This is the best chocolate shop I've been to. The chocolates are made fresh everyday and taste amazing! I have eaten these in the car on the way home and even shipped them across country (after a nice deep freeze) and they taste just as good as the day you bought them. Everyone is friendly and happy to work with what you have in mind. Every holiday I send these home to my family and they always want more. These are 100% worth every penny because you can taste the hard work and quality with every bite. The best flavor has to be the Italian hazelnut chocolate (Gianduja) . I came in with a friend to pick out some chocolates for our spouses and enjoyed learning about the owner, their background and the different varieties of bonbons. The sweet woman at the register patiently explained every single variety and gave us helpful tips on customer (and personal) favorites. My only disappointment with La Bonbonniere is that it took me living in the area for nearly 10 years to realize it was here. If you love quality chocolates, this place is legit. Hands down, there's just nothing in the CSRA that can compare with the quality you're getting here. They variety is great, too - my wife and I always struggle making our selections without bringing home 50 pieces. The owners (worth noting they are Swedish and French, raised and trained in chocolate making) and their crew are incredibly nice, routinely offering a free sample as you leave with your purchase, and always happy to answer questions about their process and ingredients. In addition to the usual selection of chocolate treats, I highly recommend both their chocolate boxes and chocolate dipped strawberry mixes as holiday gifts. read more

All the chocolates are made in house, which definitely comes through in the quality and taste. I'm not a huge chocolate person, but these truffles were absolutely to die for. I had the amaretto almond and the coconut. Both were fantastic although I think liked the coconut even better. My husband had the ganache and the crème de mint and was very pleased with them. The sweet (har-de-har) lady who works there (I don't know if she's the owner) was absolutely delightful, definitely makes us want to go back even more. What surprised us was the price--we were prepared for something really expensive and it turned out under $5 for four chocolates! So basically, go here, and buy everything. One of my three favorite places in Augusta/Evans: The other two are De La Pop & Tip Top Taps. This chocolate is some of the best I have tasted; and I have been to Europe! This tidy little shop is conveniently located on Furys Ferry Rd, right off of Washington Road on the BACK side of the plaza next to the Goodwill store. These treats are especially great for gifts for clients and special occasions. The staff was extremely helpful & even gave my family a tour of the shop to show us how the chocolate was made on site.
