If you're not a big eater like me, you could ask for smaller portions or split a single piece with whoever you're there with. They actually came so often we had to decline some rounds (praying for a bigger appetite in my next life). For drinks, we ordered pineapple and passion fruit smoothie. The sweetness of the pineapple smoothie was mild and pleasant. The passion fruit was quite tart (which is exactly what my boyfriend likes). Honorable mention out goes to the yuca fries. Aside from the meat, that was my favorite thing from their buffet bar. The restaurant does get quite loud due to how small it is, but the staff were enthusiastic and helpful. I hate to say it, but the interior felt a tad run down. The place could really benefit a lot with some minor touch ups (a coat of paint, fixing the door hinges, etc).

You get a small card with a picture of a cow and what part of beef you're eating. We affectionately called it a meat map. The salad bar is quite carb heavy (in true Brazilian style!), complete with feijoada. I've had better, but this place is about meat on swords! not stew. Its the morning after, and I can't breathe. Also, I may avoid meat in the coming days. Would go again!

Four people ended up not being able to make it, and our party of 10 was seated together. The server was quite friendly and took drink orders immediately upon us being seated. He put those in while we looked at the menu. He answered questions about the menu and offered to refill our drinks. The spare ribs were excellent. The meat fell off the bone. The roasted vegetables were a nice mix and seasoned well. We were offered dessert when everyone was finished with dinner. We were well attended to without feeling rushed.

Upon arrival, the host asked if we had made a reservation. Not knowing this was required, we were initially pleased that he agreed to accommodate our party of three. Then, things changed once we were seated. As we were looking over the menu to decide what to eat, I started coughing due to a "throat tickle." When I took a sip of water from the bottle I had been carrying with me, a different employee told me that I couldn't drink from my water bottle in the restaurant. When I explained why, he continued to make his point. A waitress came to take our food order, but seemed unhappy with our choices. Noticing this, when she returned to take our beverage order, we decided on only water instead of the wine we had originally planned to order. Throughout the rest of our time at Castell, my friend noticed that this waitress repeatedly gave me looks of disapproval. The food was the only good part of our experience, and I would give it alone 5 stars. There is a traditional fire grill on which the meats are prepared. The filet mignon and lamb chops were perfectly seasoned and delicious! Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was uncomfortable and unpleasant. Our waitress gave me an annoyed look when I requested the check. My friend and I split the payment. As she was paying, the waitress mentioned the "skip the tip" option, so my friend obliged her. I went ahead and paid a tip as I felt her problem was more about her than me. Despite the authenticity and quality of the menu selections, I cannot recommend Castell based on how we were treated.
