This is a great little food stand that is built into the exterior of the Cafe de la Place. While…read morethe Cafe de la Place is fairly boring and expensive (typical tourist trap brasserie) this small vendor is a treasure. The owner/chef is very proud of his operation and prepares crepes and sandwiches before your eyes as you wait with a selection of very fresh ingredients. If you want avocado and fig in your sandwich, well, he will cut them up for you from a whole fruit! Maybe don't try to change your order too much because the chef has a very clear idea about what ingredients go well together :) The crepes are quite traditional in terms of the selection of toppings of ham, cured ham, cheese, mushrooms, and egg... But they do not fail to please the taste-buds. The sandwiches are more exotic with choices like fresh mozzarella di buffala and roquette/arugula and on a fresh baguette they are delicious and filling. Crepes are from 3.5-6.5 euros and sandwiches are 5-7 euros so its a great deal if you feel like avoiding the cantine or a McDonald's...or like avoiding to pay 6 euros for a Coca Cola in the Cafe de la Place next door (how much would a sandwich cost???). However, the cafe (if they are not too busy) will probably let you eat a crepe/sandwich at one of their outdoor tables if you buy a drink from them (but be warned, the crepe might be the cheaper portion of your meal...) Bring cash and enjoy one of the best crepe stands in Paris!

My colleagues and I just wanted to have an early dinner since we were still jet lagged and we still had early meetings the next day. The hostess realized that we wanted dinner and accommodated us to sit upstairs in the main dining room. Since we were the first to be seated upstairs, it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves...sweet! It was a little pricey but this seems to be norm in Paris. I really should stop converting it back to CAD$. The food was fabulous. Make sure you try the classic Medovic cake (Russian honey cake).

I used to live in Miami Beach so I am used to levels of terrible service and I know that Parisian servers tend to take their time but this place is on another level of shitty service. After being seated it took a good 15 minutes before our server even appeared to speak to us. I was absolutely starving and of course everyone's food came out while my entree the crispy duck salad was missing. I think the dude forgot to put mine in so I had to sit there dying while everyone had their admittedly beautiful entrees. The ham and cheese "sandwich" was instagram worthy and my wife's truffle butter cod was scrumptious. Finally the dude showed up with the wrong entree. I was actually going to just eat it as I was starving but when I told him it was wrong, he whispered a curse and took the food away before I could tell him I would eat it. It took another good 20 minutes for my salad to appear. It tasted great but I think at that point I would have thought ass on a plate would have tasted great as I was absolutely starving. Overall this is a very busy cafe in an extremely busy touristy place so they really have zero motivation to improve their service. It's too bad as otherwise it might have been a great meal.
