I have NEVER, and I mean NEVER, had a better experience than the one I had with this restaurant!!…read moreNot only was their food absolutely amazing and delicious, as in the most delicious food I have EVER had, but their service was BEYOND top notch!! They took care of us like no waiters have ever done before, with kindness that is unmatched, and made us feel as if not only were we welcome, but we belonged! (We are tourists from America, so this felt absolutely wonderful, and was by far the highlight of our trip!) The musician was extremely sociable and personable, and to top it all off, even let me play his balalaika just for fun! The atmosphere was beyond perfect, with the kindest staff that made the experience FUN!! If you're looking not only for a delicious dinner and perfect experience to match, THIS is the restaurant to go to. Although I can't place their names, big shout out to our waitress who recommended us bars after we asked (and even asked her friend for more recommendations so we could be better prepared), the host who gave us the most tasteful shots and had such plentiful kindness, and the musician who performed for us all night! We love you!!!

This place is gorgeous! Most restaurants in Paris do not serve dinner until 7pm. Came here a few…read moreweeks ago at around 6:30pm and only the main floor was opened for tea/coffee & desserts. My colleagues and I just wanted to have an early dinner since we were still jet lagged and we still had early meetings the next day. The hostess realized that we wanted dinner and accommodated us to sit upstairs in the main dining room. Since we were the first to be seated upstairs, it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves...sweet! It was a little pricey but this seems to be norm in Paris. I really should stop converting it back to CAD$. The food was fabulous. Make sure you try the classic Medovic cake (Russian honey cake).

This was probably my most disappointing meal while in Paris. Café Pouchkine is on a busy corner in…read morethe 1st arrondissement with plenty of outdoor seating so the location is prime. The attached bakery has beautiful desserts on display and by all accounts the food here is awesome. Unfortunately my experience was not very good. The service here is absolutely atrocious. I used to live in Miami Beach so I am used to levels of terrible service and I know that Parisian servers tend to take their time but this place is on another level of shitty service. After being seated it took a good 15 minutes before our server even appeared to speak to us. I was absolutely starving and of course everyone's food came out while my entree the crispy duck salad was missing. I think the dude forgot to put mine in so I had to sit there dying while everyone had their admittedly beautiful entrees. The ham and cheese "sandwich" was instagram worthy and my wife's truffle butter cod was scrumptious. Finally the dude showed up with the wrong entree. I was actually going to just eat it as I was starving but when I told him it was wrong, he whispered a curse and took the food away before I could tell him I would eat it. It took another good 20 minutes for my salad to appear. It tasted great but I think at that point I would have thought ass on a plate would have tasted great as I was absolutely starving. Overall this is a very busy cafe in an extremely busy touristy place so they really have zero motivation to improve their service. It's too bad as otherwise it might have been a great meal.
