We didn't expect much from this unassuming taverna, but we were pleasantly surprised! Great service, fabulous food, and a pleasant atmosphere. We would go back in a heartbeat. read more

The ambiance is awesome! The menu is not extensive, but tasty enough to keep me entertained. They have good wine and make great coffee. Bonus: they have power outlets all over the place so you can charge your "appliance" Highly recommend!

Did I succumb to temptation and buy one last jamon iberico baguette? Also yes. 14.95 euros is steeeep. Paid 20.90 euros total w an orange juice. An airport sucked I am. What's subpar about the ones here is that the ones in the city have a delicious tomato paste on it. This one is just a baguette with not enough slices of jamon.

The staff is outstanding, always there to help We stayed 3 nights, would have stayed 4, but our first time there they were fully booked for the next night. On our return trip we made sure we booked the 2 nights ahead of time. We had started our trip in Budapest where our Viking river cruise began. It was our first time on such a fancy trip. We are Pilgrims at heart, which is why we extended our trip for 3 more weeks. We ended in Amsterdam but took a train to Lourdes, then Bayonne, we were looking to hike an obscure Camino route " Camino del Batzon". It went from Bayonne to Pamplona. After our first day we found how obscure it was, Almost all the hotels had shut down due to lack of pilgrims. Time for plan B, we decided to go directly to Pamplona. We backtracked to Bayonne, then a bus to Pamplona, where our first stay was at this hotel. What a great city and made better by our hosts, so we hiked from Pamplona to Longrona and back. This was our shortest Camino, but I can now say I've been on all 5 of the major ones. Three complete from 2015, over 850 kilometers and 4 credentials We have stayed in Alburques on every Camino, so don't think this is an "Alburque", it's a nice place to re center. So thank you Hotel Campanilla for making everything easy and welcoming of Pilgrims. Buen Camino.

They also brought hot stones out that you could continue to cook your steak on. I can imagine this is traditional, but it was our first experience with this and we really enjoyed it. Everything as quite fresh and the service was better than other restaurants in Madrid. I ordered the cod in tomato sauce. The sauce was on the sweeter side, but very very good nonetheless. It was a hearty portion and I only finished about half of it. We loved this meal and this experience. Highly recommend

First of all the place is stunning, old school Spanish decor but beautiful nonetheless. I wasn't really hungry but the pictures on google looked too good to pass up. Upon sitting down I was presented with a few plates of tapas, some almonds, potato chips and sausages. Of course it's a steakhouse but I went for the tuna loin with plum sauce. Divine. It also came with a large plate of fries. At the end of the meal I was given a bottle of Pedro Ximenez and some Toblerone. Would actually come back to Madrid just for that meal. Loved the service as well, I couldn't even pour myself a glass of water without someone rushing over to handle it for me. Really impeccable from start to finish.
