What a great place to eat traditional Mexican dishes, the antojitos! This place is famous for their pozole, but I was craving flautas.
I noticed the order of flautas only had three, so I thought I would need something else to add to it because most floaters are very skinny with very little meat. So I also ordered a tostada. As it turned out the flautas are so large and stuffed so generously I could not even finish the order of three! The waiter offered to wrap things up for me but I don't have any refrigerator in the hotel.
Even with the extra food I was unable to eat my whole bill came to less than five dollars. What a great deal!
The service is very fast. The menu is under the glass of your table. So you don't have to wait for someone to bring you a menu. Just read your table. The server did come and bring me a slip of paper with a list of all the items they offer for me to jot down a number indicating how many of each item I wanted. I thought that was a very efficient and fool proof way to place orders.
My server was very friendly and spoke some English. He was excited to practice English with me.
The food was made quickly and brought to my table. As I mentioned I was shocked at the size of the tacos. I did notice what people at other tables were eating and it all looked delicious. Everyone seem to be enjoying themselves.
The atmosphere is jovial and a little bit loud, but a great place for friends or family to get together for a delicious and inexpensive meal in a pleasant and clean restaurant. There is a TV screen and music playing. I would not consider this a romantic restaurant for a date, but for what it is they do a great job.
There is parking available, something that's important in this city.
The soft drinks are served in bottles. They also serve aguas frescas made there.
I noticed the restroom needed and little attention, however it was at the end of a long day just minutes before they closed.
I will definitely want to return to this restaurant. Two thumbs up! read more
