The House taco was very good with tasty carnitas and raja peppers and fresco. The Green chili taco really was tasty and the roasted pork was so good. Always enjoy the queso and chips. After years of wanting to try this place, I finally found the time to give it a try. It's a walk-up window service offering authentic fare. I had ordered the Richies (3 Carnitas tacos) with Guajillo sauce, a side of yellow rice and black beans. All tacos are 1 per order with the exception of the Richies. The tacos came with a side of cheese, cilantro, & onion. They had great flavor, and the fried tortilla gave a nice crunch. The sauce had the right amount of spice. The beans & rice are enough for 2 people. Price wise, it's a little higher than I'm used to, but not a deal breaker for me. I live in downtown PGH so it takes a pretty compelling offering to get time to hop in my car and venture further out for good Mexican food--especially tacos. However, some friends of mine in the South Hills persuaded me to go 20 minutes one-way for La Casa Del Tacos (LCDT) and I'm grateful they did because the tacos were excellent. At $4/taco it's not exactly a cheap date night, but definitely not breaking the bank either. Cash and card are both acceptable. We opted to try 5 tacos and selected 1. Pollo (chicken), 2. Carnitas, 3. Camaron (Shrimp), 4. Al Pastor, and 5. Green Chili Pork. Additionally, we also got an order of chips and salsa. Everything tasted great, but the selling point for me, and the reason I came out, is because LCDT claims to be the most authentic tacos in the South Hills. Food tasted just as I hoped and reminded me of the street tacos I used to get in Tijuana. I'm partial to the shrimp and green chili tacos that I thought were particularly flavorful. My boyfriend ordered the torta and didn't say a word the entire time he was eating. I'm pretty sure I saw a tear fall from his eye from the pure joy he was experiencing. This spot is pretty cute. There are a few tables outside that it seems they share with Beez right next door and you order at a window. We got takeout, but the gentleman before us had his food brought to the table he was at outside. They have hand sanitizer out by their window and marks on the ground to social distance. They have a few hot sauces out for you to grab as needed. The food here was decent. I had the Al Pastor tacos and I thought these were pretty good, juicy, and nicely seasoned. My mom got the chicken and carnitas tacos and she also said she liked hers. My dad did not like his tacos at all, he got the gringo and the carne asada. Thankfully he got a side of black beans which he said he did like. I tried a little bit of the filling for each of his tacos and I thought it was fine. You need to check this place out! It's right behind Portman's Market in a very small shopping center. I never even knew that existed back there. I'm so happy I saw this pop up on Yelp because these are some of the best authentic tacos I've had in a long time. We weren't starving so we just ordered 4 barria tacos. Ooooh my goodness, please keep these on the regular menu! They are currently a special, but I hope they stick around. Prices are average. $4/$5 per taco depending on what kind you get. I can't wait to come back in the summer when street corn is in season because it looks incredible. I'm not sure if this is a new place or not, but I'm going to make sure to spread the word -- it's so tucked away that it would be hard to find otherwise. One downside is there's no indoor seating (there is outdoor). So that's kind of a bummer in cold weather. You either eat in the car or pray your tacos don't get soggy on the way home. Also the service was wonderful and very friendly. They have outside seating right in front and there's also a gazebo in the parking lot for when the weather is warm. This is quite an unassuming place from the outside but the kitchen is packed with a lot of passion. They also have a good truck outside open sometimes. I picked up from the food stand. I called and placed the order and the taco was freshly made and hot when I picked it up. They have only one vegetarian option on their menu. The ingredients were very fresh and the quantity of toppings was good. I especially liked the beans as it was not mushy like most other places I have eaten. One thing to note is, the soft shell taco is oily. There were remains of oil on my hand after I ate it. Definitely tasty food and would recommend a visit to this store! read more

This is my first time trying out this little takeout joint! I've been really looking forward to it, but I'm a little mixed on how I feel now. I got a lobster and mango salsa taco, which was tasty and refreshing. The birria taco was nearly impossible to eat as we got stuck in a bit of traffic; it was very soggy understandably. The flavor itself was alright, but I'm not positive it had more than a bite with cheese in it. I did enjoy the al pastor and the camarón tacos. Here's where I'm a bit... peeved. My very hangry daughter requested (through me) a chicken taco with lettuce, tomato, and cheese. She got a chicken taco with guacamole, pico de gallo, and no cheese. The pico was too spicy for her with all of the onions, so we picked through and salvaged. Needless to say, she's still salty with me, and I may have to feed her cheese and crackers for her to forgive me. La Casa Del Tacos is this little pickup window located in a cute strip mall. I'm a fan of the tacos and I definitely see this being one of my regular go-tos. The flavorings are on point and each taco is generous on the fillings and toppings. While the generous fillings are something you'd want to see on a taco, my one complaint is the shell which never seems to be able to hold up the weight of the filling. Ugh. They always fall apart on me! So be careful; otherwise, you'll end up with tacos on your lap! The carne asada and shrimp tacos are prob my favorite. This place is honestly a hidden gem!!!! The food is so authentic and delicious. We got the Vegetarian taco, Birria taco (MY FAVORITE!!!), Cheese quesadilla, Rice and and Gauc with chips!!! I keep telling everyone about this place. Highly recommend! The shopping center they are located in is so beautiful, clean and quiet. The service is great. Every time its about a 15 minute wait and they bring it out to your car. The wait is worth it for fresh food! :) Love the selection of authentic drinks as well. Wow am I so happy that this place exists. Originally from Boston, I was starting to think that finding an authentic Mexican restaurant was never going to happen but the heavens opened and dropped this little prize in my backyard. These tacos are corn based taco so by nature they will be soft not crunchy. I had the following: Baja tacos (fish) chunks of fish super yummy Shrimp taco (full disclosure my sister ate this before I had the chance to try...rude) Al Pastor (pork with chunks of sweet pineapple) Chicken (out of this world) I also had the queso and guac which are delicious. And the street corn which is so good it makes you want to slap a stranger. The rice is a yellow rice with peas and carrots and is surprisingly flavorful. I can sense how judgmental you're getting because I ordered so much food, and would like to bring your focus back to this amazing food you must try. This is a new taco place in Bridgeville. It's right behind Portman's deli(big green barn). They are a pick up window only business. There is no online ordering. I'm not sure if you can call in an order. We ordered 10 tacos, queso and chips, a jarritos and two ears of Mexican street corn. The taco were all good, although a little too spice for some of us. My favorite was the fish. I loved the corn, my 17 year old thought it was "just ok". The queso was really good, but the chips were hard and stale. We all agreed the chips were not good. Maybe they were left overs from the day before. They also forgot to give us the fruit punch Jarritos soda. The bill was $60 and change, so not cheap. They are two minutes from Lucha street tacos. We ordered: -Carnitas, Birria, Garcia, and Richie tacos. The sauce with the Birria was so flavorful and a cool addition to the dish. -Guac and chips- fresh, flavorful, and on the chunky side ( my preference) -Queso- Smooth and poured well on the tacos and chips -Cinnamon Churros- probably my husbands favorite, good crunchy texture but soft to chew, served warm with caramel sauce.
