I particularly enjoyed the patio when we stayed late last summer because we were lucky enough to get a clear night and a stunning sunset. The showers could use a little bit bit of help, but hey, this is an alpine backpacking hut so one doesn't expect too much. (Tokens are fine but it needs to last 1 min. longer.) My group especially appreciated the side area dedicated to guests hand-washing a few laundry items. Along the Haute Route we didn't find too many places with such a thing available. All in all a wonderful place with fine mountain hospitality. Highly recommended.

We got there a little before and they were still able to seat us and we just waited which was fine. The menu has a lot of options. For the 4 of us we ultimately landed on the escargot, cheese fondue, beef/chicken fondue and raclette. These all came with many things to dip (meat, bread, potatoes, etc.) and a variety of sauces. Everything was DELICIOUS! Ambiance has an extremely cute Swiss vibe and felt very cozy even though there were a lot of tables in a large room. The service was very friendly but a little on the slow side and once it got busy it got tough to track down a waitress.

Drink: 2015 petite arvine- Gerald besse (Swiss white wine) Setting: idyllic views of Lac Champex, modern cute dining room with very chic Edison old style hanging bulbs. Tres romantique! (But there are plenty of hikers here from TMB too) Service: excellent The starter salad was simple and delicious and beautifully arranged. The dressing is a cream almost ranch-like dressing (but WAY better!) Seriously, this was the best eggplant lasagna I've ever had (best lasagna I've ever had!) the lasagna noodles were very thin (at first I thought there was no noodle.) The risotto was great, very rich. The mushrooms were perfect. Dessert was pear, with a scoop of very good vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. It was a perfect ending to a perfect meal. Both dishes were served with a Swiss poppy on top- very elegant. The white wine (listed above) was the best I've ever had- it had a mild sweetness that was perfect for the dishes (this is not sweet like moscato or Riesling) which I prefer.
