La creme is a very nice nail salon . I was impressed with the setting and the vibes in there . I loved how my nails came out so this isn't necessarily a bad review , this is more of a heads up.... I went into La creme some time In feb. and was greeted instantly for my Appointment. I got a refill with design. I believe the name of my tech was Eva or Ava. Eva/Ava was a doll and talented. She is good at doing nails. However, Just prepare yourself for the 'Ava experience' (I was told this from a few people who have had Eva/Ava) The Eva/Ava experience is 2.5 hours for a refill (this is how long it Took her to finish for me) because she was constantly stoping to text or speak to friends on the phone. The whole time, she would stop working on my nails to answer back text . She was texting and talking on the phone so many Times I couldn't believe it . I nicely asked if she could focus on my nails. She was polite but continued to stop every few moments to read a text or stop to text back. I truly feel my nails were not neglected during this process and again, she did do a good job but the time it took to complete was ridiculous. It was a complete lack of consideration. As a business owner myself, I strongly Suggest, enforcing a no phone policy. I have never experienced this before. In my 30 + years of nail experience have I witness a nail tech stopping to text And take calls while working on my nails. (If it's were emergencies I can understand but, I assure you it was not) Again, this is more of a heads up. Give yourself a lot of Time here ! Stop reading reviews on this page and just go somewhere else, unless you want a story about a nightmarish experience cause I have one for you! This is actually the worst nail salon I have ever been to in my life. It's not clean, there is no customer service, and the nail tech's could care less about their customers. I went here out of convenience as it's located near my office. The first time I went, the woman who did my nails did not speak any English, and the man who was translating for her left mid-way through. Therefore I could not communicate with her, she ended up shaping my nails square, when I asked for round. She filed my nails lopsided, and the paint was uneven. To top it off, it was about $5 more than other salons nearby. Miscommunications happen, so I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and try again. This was a huuuuge mistake. The woman who did my nails this time around should not have a job. She spent 75% of the time talking to the other nail tech, and/or screaming, like yelling, on the phone with her baby daddy (the name in her phone she was calling, not my words). It's fine if you want to talk but she could not talk and work on my nails at the same time, and when she was focused on me, she managed to call me "chinky" a handful of times and made a few other racist remarks towards Asians (I am half Chinese). Not sure if she was aware how offensive and non PC this is. Anyways... There was even a point where she went to the bathroom, we could still hear her screaming on the phone, and she came out 10 min later obviously crying. I get we all are going through things...but maybe don't bring it to work with you to that degree? I felt bad, and was embarrassed for her. However, I am paying for a service I was not getting... She was so distracted she cut my finger, and it was bleeding a decent amount. It's still sensitive/sore 5 days later. An hour and a half after sitting in the chair, she was ready to start painting my nails. It literally took 90 minutes to file and get my nails ready for color. I'm used to being out of the salon in less than 60 minutes. I asked if she could speed up the process as I had been here for 1.5 hours. She got up and starting yelling at me about how I was offending her, and "making her feel some type of way" and that " I don't have to do your nails". The best part of the whole experience was that these ladies thought we cant understand Spanish, while half of them where drunk of doing a service! Best believe the "NEIGHBOR HOOD NEGRO" ( NO NOT WHAT I CALLED HIM, HE CALLED HIM THAT ) OFFERING HATS TO EVERYONE, not like anyone would notice because they were drunk. This rating is even too much. This is the 2nd time I've tried to give this business a chance. The first time I paid $40 for a gel pedicure. Within a day my polish was gone because the girl didn't use the correct light to set it! Moving forward gave them another chance. I have natural long nails with an overlay. The girl made the overlay to thin. Within 5 days, may nails were cracked, chipped or broken. I had to tell them they needed to fix. I go in and the young lady said that she had to be out by 5 after seeing my nails and that I would need to reschedule. I did. Well the day I was supposed to go in the cracked nail broke off so far that it was bleeding. I let them know that I can't come in because of that. I don't want to risk infection. She tells me that because I'm not coming in, it won't be free anymore and they will only give me a 10% discount. They destroyed my nails and have the audacity to not honor their work! Horrible place. Let me start off by saying if you aren't getting your nails done at La Crème what are you doing?! Today was my first time there and they have made themselves a lifetime client!! The environment is cozy but stylish. It feels very luxurious. The owner (Manny) and Ava went above and beyond to make my experience worth wild! Ava did my nails the best I have had in years. I love the personal interaction we had. Manny went as far as bending my straw so I could drink while getting my nails done. Not to mention having hookah and a great mimosa definitely earned them more points. I already made my next appointment. Thank you so much for making my day!! read more
