They have a wide variety of flavours to choose from and also offer great coffee. I think they even offer daily meals, but we were in a rush and I didn't pay attention. The cakes are a little pricy if you plan on paying them by yourself, so splitting the bill is the best idea. It is worth it though, and when you get to taste the cake, you'll forget about the money. Gladly, the baker helped us choose the design wich is good for Nick because we all have awful taste. What's great: They have cake flavours available as cupcakes so you can try them before buying a whole cake. We got stuffed with those and chose a Blondie. Typical for us and Nick loved it.

My husband told me that it was the nicest rye bread he has ever tasted...and he is a huge fan of good bread! It isn't particularly cheap, but I think it was totally worth it for bread that is that delicious. I'm sure we'll head back to try more of their bread-y treats.

They have quite an extensive eating area, so we went for tea and tarts; my friend had the blackberry crumble tart, and I had the pear and almond tart. Both were very nice indeed - my pear and almond tart was wonderfully fresh, not too sweet, but a lovely caramelised texture - a bit of resistance, but not chewy. I have to say I was really surprised when I read the reviews for this bakery…read more I've past this place a dozen times (typically on my way back from work) and it doesn't look all that interesting from the outside. However, today I was walking back home at around 1pm and noticed it was open and that a few people were sitting inside having lunch. I went in and bought an 'Italian' bread made with whole wheat and olive oil, the label said. They sliced it for me and it was only £1.5. Most artesanal breads are double that, so that was pretty impressive. When I go home I had it with some jamón and olive oil and I can't fault it. Nice, dense crumb with a thick crust. What I did find a bit strange though (and perhaps i went too late) is that half the shelves were empty both in the cake display and in the bread baskets. What was left looked good, including pastries and at least 6 cakes sold by the slice (again £1.5 a slice -steal in London). So, I am now intrigued and will make a point of coming for a sit down breakfast soon to update!
