Had the pleasure of visiting this shop this past Saturday and I will say that I'd love to come back at some point! The store is located in the Blakeny shopping area. It was REALLY congested that day as there was some kid event that caused major parking problems. I got a headache trying to find parking and trying to not cause majore traffic jams with the other impatient people trying to park. The store carries really trendy items...and at a mid-level price range. The cool thing about L.A. East is that the items that they stock are few...that way people aren't walking around with the same thing. I like that. Items are trendy, edgy, and some a bit pricey. Lots of jewelry to choose from at a really great prices. Wait. *does a double take* Is that beer on tap?? Yes, my fellow shoppers, L.A. East hands out beer while you shop. For free. All store should follow suit. I don't care if it's cheap beer or cheap wine.....That made me want to stay and it increased my shopping experience to great heights. I raced in the store in a hurry to find a specific colored dress for an event happening within hours. Latoya was so friendly and helpful. She brought me several dresses to try on and helped me find the perfect dress! She was so sweet and understanding and even found the perfect bra and earrings to finish the look! When I got home and got ready for the party I had the wrong size dress in my bag after trying on both. i was talking her ear off so I'm sure that's why. I called the store, and without hesitation, Latoya asked me what my address was, and said she'll bring it to me immediately. She went above and beyond to give me excellent customer, service, and knew how important this party was. I am so happy I went there. Fabulous trends, amazing jewelry!! This place is awesome. It has unique items, dresses, tops, jeans, etc. Some of the things can be a little pricey but they have incredible sales as well. And, the jewelry is affordable. I just scored an awesome necklace this past weekend that was on sale from $38 to $5.00!! Woo hooo!! I wore it on Sunday and got compliments ALL day long. What a steal! Absolutely love this boutique! Melissa and her staff are always so courteous. I walk in the store and am always greeted and shown the best clothing options that would best suit my style! I also live in the area, and find it ashame that a store that has the cutest jewelry and clothes could have the rudest employees. Not everyone, just a few. Mainly the owner. But usually the employees follow the owner's lead. I bought a crepe material blouse and washed it on delicate and hung it to dry. I told the owner I DID NOT put it in the dryer. I take care of my clothes that I spend a lot of money for. This lady had the audacity to look me in the eyes after I told her I had not put it in the dryer and ask me again was I SURE that I had not put it in the dryer because nobody else had brought one of these blouses back. I have NEVER been SO insulted in my life. Then she made me go find my purchase on my bank account since I couldn't find my receipt, even though the girl that sold it to me was standing right there and knew me and remembered me. After ALL THAT.. I finally got my store credit. It about killed her to give it to me. I explained to the owner how much I liked her store , but how insulted I felt that she questioned my integrity. She apologized to me . I thought everything was good and I was going to continue to shop in her store. I went back about 2 months later to spend my store credit and look around. It took me being in the store 10 min before anyone even acknowledged me. When the owner finally looked at me , she remembered me and became very distant and did not offer to help me at all. It was very obvious. I have no idea why this lady thinks she has anything to be mad at me for????? She's the one who insulted me!!!' How would she have liked to have been in my shoes and been falsely accused?! If she had been polite when I went back into her store today I would have continued shopping even though I shouldn't have, but NOW I will NEVER go back just like a few other people that have felt the same way by their reviews. It is obvious by mine and other's reviews that the owner is very rude and does not provide good customer service therefore she will not keep longterm customers. I love pretty clothes and will continue to shop where I like and am treated well. I have only lived in the Charlotte area a little over a year and had shopped in this store every month until this happened. I felt the stuffiness , but nobody had ever been rude up until this point. This is honestly one of my favorite boutiques in Charlotte in terms of what they carry. They have the cutest clothes, shoes, and jewelry, but I can't give them a higher rating because of the employees. There have been times where I am not even acknowledged and am the only customer in store. It is not a friendly vibe at all, and frankly I just feel awkward shopping in there for too long. I have been in this store twice. I gave it a second chance after the first was less than delightful! After the second try, I will not return. I try to support local businesses but the girls(women) in there are the snottiest I have run into in a long time!!!! They had their noses so stuck up in the air that it seemed like a real burden for them to help me or even be friendly. To me, they won't get any business that way! Being that way certainly does not help your business- you never know how much money someone has to spend! They do have fun and different jewelry- that's the only reason I gave it 1 star!! read more

I've been shopping at LA East for years and honestly do not understand the negative reviews regarding bad service. I am always acknowledged when I enter the store and asked if any assistance is needed. Sometimes I want to look around without any help and sometimes I am looking for something specific and they are always willing to help. I've been frequenting L.A. East for about a year now. I buy something about every third visit. I love the clothing styles. They carry Sky which is one of my favorite brands. The jewelry is beautiful. The prices are jacked up but that's just how boutiques operate. You can get good deals at the end of seasons. read more

I should've written this review years ago but instead I just stopped shopping at this store until recently, just before the holidays. I stopped in because I was in the center and thought well maybe things have changed. I'm not one to get involved but now that it's happened several times, I feel compelled to make it known that not only is the owner "choosy" with whom she is nice to, I find her to be racist. I'm a white female and on several occasions when I shopped this store, out of the blue I would hear the owner raise her voice and say the word "eyeballs" but could never figure out what she was talking about. It wasn't until recently that I was at the checkout when an african american woman walked in and it again called out by the owner and for someone who rarely pays attention to clients, she was then all eyes! VERY DISTURBING to me to think that not only does she feel that way, but that she has the audacity to shout out something like that and think it's not offensive! I don't care how cute some of the accessories are, i WILL NEVER walk in this store again and I will be sure to tell all of my friends the same! BEWARE of who this woman is! read more

Seriously?! Been in there a couple times...no one greeted me, the employees were on the phone having personal conversations, and were just plain rude. Clothes are overpriced and cheesy! (Ed Hardy?! Really?!) One of the employees actually said to me..."Our other location is located next to a Walmart and does much better." Again...seriously?! Hate to say it but I'm not surprised. Definitely sticks out like sore thumb in this area. I've not written very many negative reviews so I have to have some really bad experiences to do so. I am still in shock! Bought leggings for $58 the week before Christmas. They ended up being too large. I went in January to return them for a store credit. I knew it would be a store credit because I specifically asked the exchange policy when I purchased them. I didn't have my receipt so the girl told me that I would get $10 for them. She then told me they would accept my bank statement as proof of purchase. I told her that I would pull it up online. Went outside since I didn't have good cell service inside the store. I left the leggings on the counter. While I was pulling up my information 5 minutes later, the sales clerk came outside to ask me when I bought them. I told her in December. She then informed me that they wouldn't accept them since it had been longer than 2 weeks. What?! It was Christmas time. How can you not accept a purchase back in January that I made in December? I could hear someone else in the store. Clearly, someone had heard what was going on and told the clerk not to accept the leggings. Likely, I would have spent more in the store than the return cost of the leggings. I will never return. Clearly, someone has no business knowledge and doesn't understand the meaning of customer service. If a business is willing to treat a customer this way then they clearly need the money pretty badly. I walked out with the leggings and intend to tell everyone I know about this experience. Poor business knowledge for sure! read more
