The Long Version: My husband and I were driving from Ottawa to Laval and stopped by this bakery to grab a snack. Everything looked delicious, but we settled on a raspberry cannolo and a chocolate lobster tail pastry. They were $5.95 each. The raspberry cannolo was tasty. The shell was crunchy and the filling was a ricotta cheese filling with raspberries. The lobster tail pastry was even more delicious. One end was dipped in chocolate and crushed hazelnuts. The pastry was rich and flakey and the filling was a creamy chocolatey custard. The lobster tail pastry was larger and I feel it was more bang for our buck. They had lots of pastries including Napoleons and croissants. I had a chuckle when I saw that they had the French-Canadian pastry called Pets de Soeur because it translates to Nun's Farts. Lol. It's spiraled pie dough with butter and sugar. I'm actually not a fan of the taste, but I find the name hilarious. Anyway, they also have breads and pizzas, as well as savoury items like Arancini and Calzones. Staff were pleasant. I would love to return to try other items. They have free parking on-site. You walk into this unsuspecting bakery that is on the side of the road across from a chip stand and a sort of dépaneur style restaurant. It really does not look like much, the outside looks bland, nothing really special, to be honest. My fiancé and I stopped in and we're looking at the various sorts of sweet cinnamon and sticky style buns that they had. We got a couple and we're off on our way home to Ottawa. Now- the bad. We got home, prepared some evening tea to have with out treat, only to realize with our first bite that we should have gotten more, as in, much, much more. We didn't see mum, but the son and dad were super friendly. The food was everything you would expect for Sunday brunch. Nothing super fancy but we were certainly not disappointed. The only minor complaint was that they took ages to clear the tables.Their focus was on the customers that were already there rather than clearing the way for more. When we sat down they cleared our table fast enough, and then we had lots of great serviec, but it was almost like they waited till someon sat down before they bothered. We'll be back.
