The goods: I'd been meaning to try this bakery for a while so since I had an appointment just up the street from them, I decided to stop in yesterday (a Thursday) around Noon. I got loaf (pain de ménage), a quiche (courgette), a chocolate eclair and a slice of their 'exotic' cheesecake. First, the quiche was delicious and the perfect size for lunch. If you are having a salad or veggies (any kind of side dish, really), then I would say half the quiche would be perfect. Anyway, the quiche was incredibly tasty and not greasy or heavy. I would definitely pick a few of these up again. I then tried the cheesecake, which had a nice texture (consistent but not as heavy as 'commercial' cheesecakes) and a thick layer of mango/pineapple on top. I didn't find this dessert to be overly sweet (bonus) and overall, quite enjoyed it. I'm generally not a big fan of mango (I find them too sweet) so look forward to trying another variety in the future! I haven't had the eclair yet so can't comment. I tried the bread this morning and it was a solid piece of toast! Great consistency, not heavy and not too sweet or salty. Ok, nothing different compared to pretty much any "gourmet" ice cream parlor. The chocolate and the ice cream are good. But, you can't taste the chocolate because it's too cold and too thick. A good shell of chocolate to me would crunch under the tooth and melt with the cream. But there, the coat is just so thick you crunch on frozen chocolate. If you ever froze a hollow chocolate bunny and ever sneaked and eaten a frozen piece. That's pretty much it. It's a shame, because the chocolate is a great quality. But you can't taste it because it's frozen.
