Recommendation: Overall it was okay but enough to make me go back again. Go for the mojitos and live music, but look elsewhere if you are looking for a heavy, satisfying dinner.
The Experience: We visited when the restaurant was mostly empty and asked to be seated closer to the live salsa band. The host declined, claiming the band rotates through the rooms and would eventually reach our table at the back. Unfortunately, by the time we asked for the check, the band had only made it to the middle room, so we missed out on seeing the performance entirely.
The Food & Service:The Ropa Vieja was good, but the service was a bit confusing. Our server advertised the rice and beans as "complimentary," even though the menu clearly stated they were included with the meal. Additionally, two of us ordered the Ropa Vieja, but they brought out only one shared plate of rice and one shared plate of beans. I wish they had asked us first, as we assumed we would each get our own separate sides.As a heads-up for anyone looking to customize their meal: I asked to add a fried egg to my plate, but was told no because their system had no way to charge for it. It was disappointing that they wouldn't accommodate the request by simply charging me the equivalent price of something else, like a bottled water.
