I was not expecting such a nice restaurant on the outskirts of Nyon amidst the apartment jungle. It was nice to enjoy the last few moments of today's sunshine in their leafy outdoor terrace area. To our surprise they were celebrating their 10 yr anniversary with a prize drawing. Of course, my husband drew a winning paper, and received a large magnum size wine bottle! No worries, my review is based purely on the quality food, friendly service, and great atmosphere. The men of our group took the roasted lamb plat du jour plate, and the girls opted for salads and smoked salmon and toast. The food was fresh and tasty. I especially loved the salmon. It is the best I have had in Switzerland. The salmon slices were thick, juicy, and full of flavor..very refreshing on a hot day. Only one improvement could have been reducing the quantity of sliced onions on top. No worries though, that is easy to remove. The boys enjoyed their meat, which came nicely topped with a yummy mushroom sauce. My husband even watched them while they roasted the meat. We topped the meal off by sharing a house made citron tarte, which was good, but missing the extra "citron kick" that I prefer. The café to finish the meal was just a lovely note to end the experience. My friends have come here a couple of times before, and they mentioned that one thing they love about the place is that the menu offers a bit of something for everyone, and they haven't found anything bad. They have an eclectic menu which offers pizza, pasta, and even fondue.

My favorite is the teeny tiny muesli-fruit-nut-roll with cooked pears and brie (5.60 francs). Enjoy their curry chicken, apple, and sprouts on whole grain-nut bread. Tuna with olives is pretty good, too. High quality, open Sundays, and friendly service.

I passed by greens, and the warm quiches were calling my name. I had been eyeing these quiches for several days now, and my mouth was curious to try them. They were not typical Swiss looking quiches, these were baked in puffy crust, and looked full of ingredients vs. egg. They are smaller- about the size of your hand. Needless to say, I stopped and quickly purchased the toasty warm quiche. My taste buds were definitely not disappointed. The quiche was exactly what I was hoping for, not heavy with egg, but light and fluffy. The puffy crust was a great combination. Definitely good. No wonder I see people stopping by every evening and picking these up. There are always very few left. These brought my review up a star. I still have yet to try the yummy looking salads there.
